I'm hoping to do a lot of the trails we didn't get to do last time I was there. The harder the more fun right

Hey fellow south carolin-inans. I didn't know where else to post this... kind of new here.
But I'm in the market for a Tacoma. A fairly new one with 4x4, double cab, towing, and auto, and v6.
In a dream world it would be the TRD off-road
I found one for sale- and want your opinion on the deal.

It's a 2016 4x4, trd, double cab, with 9,000 miles. All stock- and has leather, nav, keyless entry and push button (not sure if that's stock or not)
    No accidents- flooding etc.
He said he'd take 30,500- (his asking) but he's weighing out a lower offer from me.

What do you think? I'm guessing this is a 36-37k new, and maybe 32-33k with negotionations (New from a dealer)

Yeah, I'd try to check the dealer service history somehow. It seems some of those 3rd gens have had a lot of problems. He might be trying to sell is headache.

I did ask and he said he wants a tundra. He even said his price is based off a dealer trade in value... sounds like a good story. But I guess I would never really know why. (I asked about flooding and all that too)

And if I had an issue come up I would guess Toyota would be there to fix it... I hope.
But I thought the 3rd gen had improoved engine, cabin etc?
And even if I look for 2013,14,15... still like $28-33k.... but up to 60,000 miles... it's like I'm being forced to sway towards a new one. I wish I could find a 13-15 that's less than new and not many miles...

Yes sir, drove 2 2017's and then my 2016 that I ended up buying. Both 17's felt very sluggish and one of the 17's was slow to change gears.

I couldn't believe there was that much difference in the 3. My 2016 felt like I was driving my 2015. @Taco-tree

    :anonymous: Not me... lol

But I agree- with you scottalot that maybe it isn't what he's representing.

But a call/trip to the dealership should see what history he's had with it.

That's interesting that everyone is getting different experiences with diffeeent models and years... maybe it's the color differences... haha.

Trans issues... that doesn't sound like a Toyota.... that's why I would be spending all this money... (for the 200k reliability and off-road).
I like my Subaru now- but it's time for a truck for yard work, towing, and more off road ability.
