The falkens came in the mail today, 265/70/17. Like everyone says, they look much more aggressive in person. I like them so far. I will hopefully get them installed Friday.

I snapped a few pics for comparison with them next to my 33/12.5/15 duratracs on my 95.5 tacoma.

He did say it was "counterfit", but yeah... at least use spellcheck before making a decal.

I noticed that if I start the truck, and then walk away, my I could still drive it with out the key.
After grocery shopping once and I came home, I left the truck idling while I carried up some of the packages, and emptied my pockets (from habit), and then I came downstairs and climbed in my truck to go park it. And I was able to do so. I do curb parking because my truck won't fit in my garage. When I climbed back in I realized that I didn't have my keys with me, there was a message. And wondered how my truck was able to be driven without the key not detected.

Not even remotely possible. This is just a replacement cylinder, you can't remove the push button start system. It's an integral part of the computer system in the truck and would literally cost half what the truck did to attempt to retrofit. It's u fortunately just something you'll have to live with or buy an SR or SR5 with standard ignition. That was a huge part in my choice when I bought my truck, I hate push start. BTW those key fobs are about $1000 each to replace so don't lose one.

I think you'll need the ignition interlock cylinder and breakaway bolts, key cylinder, immobilizer receiver ring, illumination ring, and lower steering column cover to do the swap. Then you'd still have to fill the hole where the push button currently is. Or swap out that panel. Probably over $500 in parts alone.
Oh, then the wire harnesses are different. That would add quite a bit more.

Warranty would only be on the parts for one year. Labor would not be covered. The 3/36 warranty only applies to factory installed components. The part numbers wouldn't jive with the VIN on a warranty claim should something try to be claimed.

I'm sure some dealers could get around it.

I've replaced quite a few columns in my career, but never tried the push button conversion(either way).

Basically true. So much to change out.

Smart keys run about $250-300, plus 0.5-1.0 hours to program(depends on the dealer).

I should start offering to program keys for $20 for some locals.. haha

That's cheap. Friend of mine had to replace a Nissan Maxima fob, $900 and change said and done.

Oh me too! The streetlights reflect off it when you're driving and it looks like something is flashing and I look down. Every time.

Same thing with the regular key... it too has an immobilizer chip in it.

I'm old and don't like change sometimes and still prefer a key over push button. I think I will keep it the way it is and use that money for other goodies! Thank you both for your knowledge.

No prob, look into the CBI bumper as well. They have the best looking rear bumper imo

I wrapped my cup holder trim with a silver vinyl, once I find something that matches the silver trim better I'll redo it, as well as the rest. It's close enough for now though.
I agree, I hate anything reflective inside vehicles.
I've dimmed the auto shifter lights, covered the cup holder chrome, and keep my illumination at the lowest setting, and often keep the radio display off at night. Cars shouldn't have anything bright inside!
