For those replacing the fogs for the first time I would strongly suggest ignoring the owners manual way of replacing the bulb. Opening up and pulling back the wheel well cover. Not fun in the cold weather. It's a huge PIA. You can pretty easily get to them by opening up the hood and look down behind the grill the sockets are right there. I was able to change them pretty easily and I have massive Popeyes forearms. JK These are the Hella super yellows most people seem to be getting. I like them image.jpg

These look really good. Was going to tint the lens yellow, but think I'll go this route instead.

I wish I would have read this tread earlier. I bought H11 XY's for my fogs and the SR5 calls for a H16 :sadviolin:. I'm considering triming the larger flange on the H11 to make it fit but worried about the extra wattage being pulled. The H11 bulb is only about 1/4" larger than the H16 bulb. Decisions, decisions...

I did the same thing! Haha. Might try PIAAs h16 and return h11s. Was worried about the watt draw too.

Data on the Limited, from the same source:

    Projector-beam headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and integrated fog lights with chrome bezels — — — — — — — — S
(The above is "S"tandard on the Limited). They did not say "integrated wide-angle", so my guess would be H16 bulbs, but you best check any numbers on the existing bulbs, or check with another Limited owner)

    EXCELLENT suggestion!
Even in relatively warm weather, the fender liners are very stiff, and liable to be dirty. Using your method is a lot cleaner, takes significantly less time, and does not involve removal/replacement of two fasteners in each fender well. (I did one foglight "by the book", and the other using your method). The only "trick" is finding and depressing the lock release lever solely "by feel", and holding it down while removing the wire connector.

(If anybody cares, I used Nokya Hyper Yellow H16s, since H16 is the bulb recommended for my version of the Tacoma. Nice, bright, yellowish light.)

Same boat here - Imma try it when mine arrive. How hard do you think the H11 would be to modify?

Agreed!!!! HID's in the fogs are overkill, potentially more maintenance depending on the kit and how long you keep the truck, not to mention the money to get a good HID kit. Just buy PIAA bulbs once and your done. Been running PIAA bulbs for 18+ years with no issues.
