Funny, my wife bitched up a storm when I got mine through Toyota. Installed July 2015, but now she drops the hammer on a regular basis. The whirl of the charger combined with the thorley shorties, urd Y pipe and custom 3"exhaust is seriously addictive to anyone who drives it .
You guys are going to love the chargers ...after the pulleys.

    Not mine!

What decal do you have? I was thinking of going with a little "S/C" or something for mine.

I was going to ask about FPs.

EDIT: this one? Is it plug and play?

On the K&N, I've heard so much bad stuff about then on NA intakes that I would not want one on an SC. My first thought was "I'll sell that and look into something better and dry." My biggest concern is that anything that increases flow usually decreases protection.

That's the one. Remove the bed enough to access the fuel tank, remove the OEM fuel pump, plug new one in. Remember to disconnect the plugs for tail and license plate lights. Some folks dropped their fuel tank, but it's much easier to unbolt the bed and slide it over.

Regarding high-flow filters, you're absolutely right: generally speaking, the more air flow = larger media pore size = more particulates. That being said, unless you're constantly driving in sandy or dusty conditions, I sincerely doubt you have anything to worry about concerning particulates. Even then, there are dust "socks" that can be used to cover the filter.

    -edit-

Between particulates and oil, I'm much more concerned about over-oiled filters, if that says anything.

MOVE THE FUCKING BED? Novel approach, but I have a cap on, and soon to have a rack on top of that. Hence part of the justification for the SC...ongoing weight gain issues.

For daily driving, not terribly concerned, but in the Sierras, lot and lots of dust. It is hard to jeep it out of your bed/cap/gear without heroic efforts.

But again, I'm not in a rush, and will take my time looking into the right filter option for me.

Ew. Yeah, I forgot about you having a bed cap. I can see how dropping the fuel tank might be easier in your case. Wait till it's damn near on fumes lol. If you lived closer I'd be more than happy to help.

    The Sierras? I'm highly jealous.

For what it's worth, I've driven in some dusty as hell areas, and after the first time I took off my intake and looked through everything to see the effect of the dust. Other than washing the filter for good measure, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I really don't think you'll suffer installing a dry intake though. You'd have to pretty much live in a dusty environment to see some negative effects IMO.

Definitely do your research though. I've followed your build and it's well thought out and developed, so I know you won't go wrong with doing what's best for you and your Tacoma.

Assuming now that boost comes into play, stock filter is not an option. Afe dry filters?

You can use the stock filter no problem, but most F/I folks will install a higher-flowing intake system to supplement the F/I. Unlike N/A engines, F/I respond well to the greater volume of airflow for obvious reason.

I like the dry AFE filters and intake system. I mentioned it earlier, but I have a AFE Stage II intake.

Thanks. Well the vision of my build may be reasonably well thought out and developed, but most of it has yet to be realized. And not sure if you noticed, but this SC was never even on it until a couple weeks ago LOL. I tend to take my time thinking through things, and I tend to take my time doing them. I've done a bit of work on aircraft, too, so that tempers my approach. And when you say blower, I say ADI. LOL. So where is your alcohol/water mixture tank installed anyway? I assume next to the gas thank on the passenger side...:cookiemonster:

Got another reply from cravenspeed on the flex pod mount. They contacted @Gadget@URD who expressed interest in a GB. I shot an email to URD asking for info (how many for GB, what the discount would be) and will let y'all know when I hear back.
