    I was pleasantly surprised. It had rained 2" Friday-Saturday, then on and off all day Saturday. Soft slick ground/rocks overlaid by wet leaves. Aired way down these did great climbing stuff like this all day. Much less slippage than I anticipated. First time using then off road in the wet and they exceeded my expectations. Kept up just fine with a bunch of guys on mtrs, km2's etc...

    They also help up pretty well, a few heeps in the group I was in cut KM(2's?, whichever come stock in Rubicons) but these held up nicely with no visible sidewall damage.

    I just purchased a 2017 TRD Sport this week and I want to put the KO2's on it. The factory tires are P265/65R17, what is the biggest tires that will fit this truck without rubbing or putting a leveling kit in?

    I imagine not many people have worn them out yet. On the originals, I remember reading about people getting over 100k on them. Mine had 80k when I sold my last truck with them, still had tons of life.

    So far I've seen reviews ranging from 18,000-80,000 miles so I don't know what's going on there.

    I've read through a good chunk of this thread but haven't seen much talk of their rain / snow / hydroplaning performance. How do these do in real we conditions with standing water on the freeway? and snow on the roads?

    Tire Rack is showing me 15/32 vs 16/32 on the new vs old. At least that's on the sizes they have in stock. They don't exactly stock a lot of KOs these days though, as I only see 7 sizes stocked.

    Rain performance is good, we had some pretty wicked rain storms last week (2-3" of rain in a few hour period). They handle just fine, no hydroplaning or fuss. However, I was also driving prudently for the weather(less than the speed limit on the highway). If you're going to bomb through standing water on going 85mph I'd expect they get squirrelly as any relatively aggressive tire would.

    I got mine last Oct and they did well in the snow here in NE. We typically see heavy, wet snow that gets compacted to a solid icy base. We had a pretty mild winter, but I did have them out in the snow including one trip to the airport at 330 am through maybe 10+ inches of snow entirely unplowed on the side roads/highway the whole way there (about 35 miles total). Again they handled just fine when driven prudently for conditions with no surprises.

    That being said, if you try to drive like a douchcanoe slamming the gas/brake you're going to slide around. While they seem to have a softish tread compound and full depth siping they are still pretty blocky and not the pinnacle of winter traction. They will work great when driven in accordance with conditions, however they are no snow tire.

    For comparison the wife has a 5th gen T4R with cooper ATW tires (at3's with a ton of siping). They blow bfgs out of the water in winter perfomace as they are much closer to a snow tire with the amount of siping they have.

    Overall I've been very happy with the BFGs. When driven in accordance to conditions they are confidence inspiring perform excellent. I'm pleased with the on and offroad performance of the tire.

    That's one of the issues I have when it comes to reviews. Someone can complain about how they hydroplane or suck in snow like my step daughter. completely leaving out the part where they were doing 50 on a sharp 90* curve. blame everything else other than slow the hell down.

    Yeah, no doubt that driving style is a factor. I personally think they're adequate in the snow, but as mentioned, I wouldn't call them great.

    I came from an AWD Subaru WRX STI with a real LSD front/middle and rear. Between that driveline and snow tires (General Altimax Arctics) snow was downright trivial. It was a blast, and honestly, I miss the hell out of that car and those tires. It felt amazing.

    I finally measured the depth. I'm at 16,250 miles since installing these with 3 wheeling trips and a few stints of heavy towing with this truck. They have been rotated every 4,000 miles and are the load range E 265/75/16s on bone stock suspension. They have been run at 35psi on all 4 corners for daily duty.

    The outside edge of the tread block is at 13/32 and the inner part is near 12.5/32

    I know your opinion is that calipers won't be as accurate as a depth gauge, but the fact is that it's actually just as accurate and far more specific since it gives you thousands of an inch instead of fractional 32nds. Here's how I measured and what I got.

    Also, I know this forum is full of bright folks, so I probably don't need to do the math, but I will anyway. At my current rate of wear I'll be hitting 48,000 miles when I hit 3/32, the normal depth that most places recommend replacing tires at.

    Probably true, I try and treat them pretty gentle. The only time I really abuse them is when I'm getting into it from a stop light. I'll sometimes let the inside rear tire slip a bit while turning and accelerating. They're wearing about as well I'd hope for with a softer tread compound.

    I just purchased 265/70/17 ko2 e rated a few days ago, I like them a lot and purchased some for my 4Runner last year. I had the option to purchase the c rated and I'm not sure if I made the correct choice. How much of a difference will the mpg's be when comparing the two, I Know it's a big change between stock. I have noticed around 18-19 mpg. I plan on carrying an atv in the bed and pulling a small camper, hopefully I made the right choice

    Finally! After all my research about what tires to get, I decided on the KO2s mainly due this thread. Went from Toyo Open Country 285x70x17 to BFGs 275x70x17. the 285s didn't rub too much after I removed the mud flaps and did some minor trimming, however; I did not want any rubbing at all. with the 3 inch lift I have and rims, there is 0 rubbing with the 275s.
