So for shits and giggles yesterday, I engaged crawl control and the locker on a little stretch I could have just as easily negotiated with a little eyeball action. The damn truck went straight up and through the obstacle - and I even pointed where I prolly shouldn't have....

Now I tell you. What fun is that? With all the racket the truck was making - no revving motor, no ridiculously spinning tires, nothing. Just a little bouncing and then straight up the road with a lot of clanking and stuttering.

Functional, but not quite as fun as the OH SHIT...I HOPE GET ON THAT ROCK thoughts....

    But I'll keep it.

Low range crawling in fun especially over a nasty looking rock pile . The lower the crawl ratio the easier it is on your drivetrain

My old 68 M38A1 jeep had an overall crawl ratio of 124:1 and made for easy crawling

I hear it. My first 'car' was a 66 Jeep CJ-5 with the Buick V6. I absolutely LOVED that thing. I spent too much on repairs so my parents made me sell it. Dude rolled it. I miss that thing almost weekly. Stock it went places many mods couldn't touch. it was less than 5' wide and about 7 feet long - with the 33s on it! Top speed: 45 mph.

Nice. I'm jealous. My wife understands, and as soon as I find something comparable (translated: not a COMPLETE rebuild and sorta nearby) I have the green light to pursue it. I don't look too hard, though, as I know I'd end up losing that fight. :)

I guess i am just a poor guy and can't justify rock crawling. I didnt spend that kind of money just to scratch the hell out of my truck or tear something up. I also don't have rock crawling where I live anyway.

Wha? Best fun i've had so far was playing with crawl control on steep, muddy/rocky, downhill.

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
Does the CC play nice with the rear locker? Doesn't it try to brake wheels individually?

MTS will work with the locker engaged and it's the same subsystem as CC. The truck doesn't engage the rear brake independently from side to side because they will be turning at the same speed. It will engage them as a pair to keep them going the same speed as the front, though. I know that doesn't make any sense because the transfer case is locked, but the front wheels cannot do all of the braking

No BRO-ness to speak of... Well, except Kbro2's
I tried mine once when i first got it to see if it worked. I made such a god awful racket the minute i engaged it, i immediately disengaged it. Reported that it must be broken or something at my first service.... that got a laugh out of the service dept.
