    I've never heard of them jumping threads, so I can't say. I've never had a problem on my icons, maybe they are being more brand specific. Got me questioning my method now though...

    Just a little barely loose. You don't want the collar to expand an hop threads. The more you tighten the more pressure is on the upper coil and is prone is expanding a tiny bit if the set screw is all the way loose
