Non-political things that make you say...WTF?!?! (Welcome To Florida!) **NOT CV RELATED** NO TALKY!

The turn this thread has taken leads me to ask the following question:

Would you rather find a black widow (or brown recluse) spider or a copperhead snake IN your house?

(for reference, I have had each at one time or another)

 

Snake. If you find one, it isn't likely to have 200 friends hiding in the dark saying they are going to get you in your sleep.

 

Knowing that the black widow's venom is a neurotoxin and the copperhead's is a necrotic, I'd rather find the place on fire and move to northern Canada with the insurance money.

 

I will say this though. When I lived in AZ, I found spiders and snakes fairly often. However, it was a scorpion that got me in the chest while I was sleeping. That freakin hurt.

Been to that museum several times, really cool pieces of vintage machinery there.

 

Those little bark scorpions are painful as hell. We have them here, and I used to get them when I lived in Benson.

Got hit by a black widow, and while they hurt the ER is at least prepared for those.

I'm digging the spider vac my GF got for a gag gift. Catch and release spiders alive, great for pranks lol! If I had a lizard or something it would be kickass for feeding it.

 

That's something I need to feed my sons lizard. Hate always buying crickets.

 

I ran into a cooper mouth while doing land navigation in infantry school. I was so scared I threw my compass up in the air. Had to go back and get it a few hours later. That was my first encounter.

Second, while in Afghanistan we were checking out a cave an a FUCKING COBRA was sitting in between us and the exit. We starting scream for help. Lol.

Third, was going to the burn barrel bathroom in Iraq an a PIT VIPER was sitting in the hole under the barrel cause it was warm.

Morale of the story I'd rather see fifty spiders before I see another snake. I'm so glad Hawaii doesn't have any snakes.

 

The only snakes in Hawaii are in the ZOO. Guam has a bad brown tree snake population.

 

That'll make more holes for bugs to crawl in through.
