You've seen where I live...I'm "almost" in the sticks

 

$1500 seems cheap, check all the fluids ( level and condition, pay attention to how the dip sticks appear above the fill level )

rear drive shaft, easily had in 2 days NEW with Spicer components, I've battled locally trying to get mine rebuilt and straight, there is no interest in doing it right.

plan on doing the timing belt and water pump if they don't have records showing its been done recent, also plan on installing a remote trans cooler and disconnecting it from the radiator a trans service wouldn't be a bad idea either

if I had the cash I'd be interested in it

Thanks for the input. I'm going to go look at it tomorrow. It's 2wd which kinda sux but it'll be my wife's grocery getter / plant getter

 

2wd have a weird rubber sleeved tube in tube driveshaft that cannot be rebuilt from what i understand, so most only see the dealer $$$$ option

the rear shaft for my junk was $850 from dealer when i had a buddy in the parts dept, when he left, so did my discount, regular $1100 so you know why folks are hesitant.

in reality, how often do you use 4wd ? or even need it ? mine had mismatched gears for several years, didn't really bother me, i just pulled the fuse to keep the front diff from engaging and used low range 2wd to move and park camper/trailer ( manual trans, helps save clutch) its fixed now and I'm still not sure why i bothered (other than a scored a correctly geared front diff for free )

if its not trashed inside, it could easily be made better for a flip

 

@voz don't you get TW where you are ?

I'm pretty far out in the sticks myself, we have TW fiber to the front of subdivision (actually house to house in the newest high $$ houses) and ATT laid it out front of subdivision last spring, i'd be real surprised to see Google out this way anytime in the near future.

 

Yeah, I get it... Just pay for internet only, don't know about the fiber thing

 

That link you posted has 2wd drive shaft for $331 ... guy says the driver seat has "typical" wear so we'll see tomorrow. I'm fine getting a $1500 runner and putting another $1500 in it and drive it for a few years....or put drive shaft and valve cover gasket in and flip for $3500. I'll post pics when I check it out.
