TRD Pro 17"x7" rims / Terra Grappler G2 tires (265/70/17), 35% tint. Part # on the rims is PTR20-35110-BK. Bought them at Olathe Toyota (Kansas). The website is: http://parts.olathetoyota.com/oe-toyota/ptr2035110bk
Just a FYI, not sure if anyone is having any issues with their clutch pedal squeaking whenever you press down on it to engage the clutch or not. I just took mine in, and although there are issues with the older Tacomas (TSB), there are no TSBs on the new 2016 / 2017 models. It just started doing this at around 7,500 miles. They did open a case on it at my local dealer (Cain Toyota in Canton, OH). Be safe, ya'll...

Did they do anything for ya? There's a few threads on this .... lube is the simple fix but let the dealer do it since its under warranty right?
It "could" be the clutch master cylinder getting ready to take a dump... squeak is usually the first sign but all it could be is needing some lube.

Yeah, all the threads I read is that lubing it doesn't fix anything. it sounds like it's something in the clutch mechanism....poor design is my best guess, as this has been an issue with previous manual shift Tacomas including the 2013 TRD I owned before this one...

Yeah I've had it before in other vehicles.... usually fixed with a new clutch master cylinder, which is the TSB for the gen2 models.

Well, they opened the case, and will FW it to Toyota. They said they'll be calling me back once they hear back from them. I appreciate the feedback...

My truck squeaked when it was new.Toyota dealer tried twice to fix it.On the third time they had a factory rep come in and fix it.It has been fine ever since. He wouldn't even tell anyone what he did!!

I will be interested to see how they handle the repair. I am getting my Tacoma from them on Monday and will likely be taking it there for service. They told me that they are going to check my transmission, manually, and check to see if it needs the TSB too. I haven't had them do anything other than routine service before and they seemed ok.

Let me know. Usually, they do great service, but I usually only go there for routine stuff. We shall see...

I am hoping that they actually do manually check the transmission like they said they would, I sent them a pretty extensive e-mail and included documentation of another 2017 TRD OR having a low transmission to illustrate that it has been known to happen in them still. I also included PDFs of the instructions to do it. My salesperson said she would get it taken care of. Hopefully, I won't have any of the issues complained of on the forum so I won't have to have anything but routine service. I will be interested to see how they deal with your situation and how they treat you.

Sounds like you have an auto tranny. Mine is a manual with a clutch. The auto tranny def needs a software update. The 16s with the tow package had issues.

A Tacoma clutch has squeaked since the 90s when it was just known as a pickup.
I had a 90 and a 95 that did it bad. Reading on here it still does.

Yep, automatic. Would have liked a manual but my wife wouldn't know how to drive it and it was hard enough to get her to get on board with me getting a new truck that she can drive if need be. Just wanted to keep up with this thread to see how Cain treats you since they are the ones I will likely be dealing with in the future if I need repairs.

Did they change anything on the 2016 in comparison to the 2nd gen or did they use the same parts ?
All we know is Toyota changed out the trans from an RA60 6 speed to a R156 in the 2016
I am sure you read all kinds of info on the 2nd gen but here is a fix listed at this link .
Wondering why Toyota would go with the same hardware if the same issues are going to occur ?

My '04 creaks something fierce at times. Like so bad it almost sounds like the whole assembly is about to explode or something. Took it into Toyota and they said they greased it up but I would need an entire clutch pedal assembly replacement to make it go away for good. $600 in parts and labor, screw that. I just lube it up every so often and it stays silent.

It's too bad that after all this time they still haven't figured out how to make it so that the pedal doesn't squeak/creak. None of my other manual cars have had this issue.

    Get used to the squeaking...

I had the dealer do the TSB for clutch squeak; it took care of the problem for about 6 months, then it returned. I spray a little white lithium grease on the clutch assembly every couple of months to take care of it.
