I just got a new cover with a zipper for my CVT Mt. Shasta. Anyone have a good how-to or could explain how to attach the new zipper piece?

Unzip the old cover off, then just feed the old zipper thru the slots that it's in

Thanks! I just needed to stare at it long enough to figure it out. I got it done.

When I was still rockin the Thule bars over the cab, with the landing pad towers and clips that wrap over the edge into the door jam, the weight/leverage of the unfolded rtt was too much causing the landing pads to dent the roof (hinge side). That's when I decided to go the frontrunner route.

I have had a couple replies in this thread about my set up. I had a CVT MT. Rainier (4 man tent) on top of my DCSB snug top shell. I was running 4 yakima bars to disperse the weight over 8 contacts rather than only 4. I never had a single worry of my shell cracking even after I replaced my windows with a custom rotopax holder. I am 175# and my wife is 120# (plus some weight for gear while on the tent).

Now, I mounted my tracks myself to make sure the tracks were mounted to the solid fiberglass and not on the honeycomb expanded area (which, I beleive, gives it a stronger grab with less flex on the bolts).

I recently sold my tent due to the fact that my wife just had our first child and I knew I wasn't going to be using any time soon.

You can see the 4 bar mounts in this picture:

Trust me, it was a sad day but my wife promised me that I could get the summit series MT. Rainier once we are looking to buy again and I did keep my awning. always been happy with my CVT products and always had good experiences.

We are definitely excited about our little baby girl but it has been a lot of adjustment.

    New to the RTT world...

Really need some way to lift the tonneau straight up 16-18" so I can make use of the annex, and more importantly get into the bed without having to struggle with the combined weight now setting on it, and then lower it back when done. Any ideas?

BTW, anyone have a picture of a stored away tent riding on the 8" tall Relentless bed bars? Just looking to see where it rides in comparison to the top of the cab.

You installed rails to your bed cover to install RTT?

Installed rails for the bike rack, RTT came later. Other than it's difficult to get into the bed now and I don't have a dedicated bike rack anymore, it seems to be good. It's made one weekend successfully so far.

Funny, that's why my wife and I bought our RTT.
