Okay so I've made a few threads asking about suspension but I'm going to buying bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks for my 2010 Trd off-road extra cab 4x4. I want to put the setting in the front either the highest (2.5in) or the third highest (1.75in I think) and I want to keep my stock coil springs on for about 3 months until I put on eibach or emu, but question is can I put these shocks on my truck at the highest setting with the stock cool springs for a few months?

You can, but the ride is going to be stiff on the highest setting and you'll have bro lean. Put it on 1.75 and you'll be level.

When you get new coils, you'll want to buy better coils that provide lift without moving the clips up. Check out the threads on here about OME coils.

Yes use the coils for the lift and leave shocks on "0" setting for best ride

Wait until you have all the parts to do your lift. It sounds like you don't know how much lift you do want so do some more reading and make a few calls to headstrong off-road toytec lifts or down south motorsports. Tell them how much lift you want and they will point you in the right direction. If you go to high you might need UCA's as well.
Ask me how I know this. I did it. 1.75 on the billys is stiff imagine 2.5. Then I did .95 and 1/2 spacer on passenger and 1/2 and 1/4 spacer on driver side. Nice ride but not high enough so I am currently running 3 inch eibach coils and Billy's set at 0. Love the right but the ride is a little stiffer than the spacer .95 setting but not as stiff as 1.75 on stock coils.

Okay thanks guys i think i might set it maybe at like a 1 inch lift in the front to start and get the lift coils which seem like a better idea and i will for sure talk to some guys there, thank you!

When I set my 5100's on the 1.75 notch they rode stiff. The front end was planted with little body roll on turns and no brake dive on stopping. Great for high speed on ramps but stiff on bumps or potholes.

That's true if the rear is on fresher 4 leaf rear leaf packs.

A 3 leaf which is likely what OP has will be way nose high at 1.75. Possibly level at .85, but depends on condition of the leafs.

As i stated before ... get some OME aftermarket coil springs, leave your 5100's set on "0" setting. the coil springs do the lifting so choose which spring (882,883,884 etc) based on how many inches you want to lift. this will provide you the best ride ... otherwise if you pre-load the 5100's your going to get a stiff ride

Rumor has it, Eibach rides best on 5100s despite the higher coil rate because they were valved for Eibach coils.

    Internet marketing shmoo? I dunno.

Forget level. That's a choice for looks that removes an engineered rake. It's there for a purpose.

Set your stock springs on the bottom perch and enjoy your more controlled ride that comes from replacing your worn out shocks.

Soon the 'it's his truck, mine's fine' crowd will be along to tell you I'm a stooge. Few of them have ever assembled race suspensions, but I digress. So here is the alternative.

Preloading a coil to gain lift does nothing good for the coil, travel, ride, etc etc. It just creates some lift.

If you insist on leveling, do it with the proper springs to achieve your goal, and match it with proper dampers to control the spring (it's what dampers do)

    You called?

The only ones I find that say the eibachs and the 5100 are valved to work together is Toytec. I only have experience with stock and eibachs on 5100's at this time.

so the other part of the rumor is that the 5100 was designed to work with the stock spring rates which are less than the OMEs. good luck with this retarded Internet marketing shmoo...

After all that, what was the question again?

mines the same as clearwater. use springs, not preload.
