HBOs WestWorld (Possible Spoilers)

There were some very interesting things revealed this episode. We know that a man name Arnold was a co-creator with Ford, and had intentionally gone a step further when developing the hosts. He was trying to give them a soul, or make them completely conscious. It's possible that some fragments of his programming are starting to bear fruit as the handful of hosts that are "malfunctioning" have talked or shouted out to this ghost, Arnold.

It appears that the hosts might actually be evolving their consciousness as evidence of certain decisions being made by the hosts, that are definitely unique. In Dolores' narrative that we have seen a number of times by now, she goes home at night to find bandits attacking her home and killing her father like before, but she is getting fragments of her memory of past instances, and is starting to see differences such as her father being someone else previously, and also the trauma induced flashback of the Gunslinger. Now that was an interesting scene as I do believe Dolores may have just killed a human player.

Another crazy part was when the two workers go off searching for the stray host that abandoned his crew and went off on his own. When they finally find him, he looks to have fallen into a small ravine and is stuck. It isn't until one of the workers goes down to detach his head for the memory stick, that the hosts reanimates and climbs up to attack the other working. The interesting thing about that scene, was that the host set the trap and wasn't stuck. He was waiting for this and was just about to kill that programmer lady until he instead killed himself. Quite the intriguing turn of events. This was a very unusual incident and I am sure the report will start to cause some panic in the offices.

I thought this was another great episode. Anthony Hopkins just kills it in his role His scenes and interaction with hosts were captivating.

I thought she killed the GTAV Trevor guy who was also a synth? Or did she kill someone else outside the barn and I just spaced it?

 

I know she killed the Trevor guy and shot somebody else but it wasn't an actual person IIRC

 

Ah, you guys are right! I checked it out and the guy is actually the same bandit that attacks her ranch daily. Except this time she kills him rather than the reverse. So she is exhibiting some of her evolving consciousness through her meetings with Bernard.

 

Plus things keep messing up. Like the gun she dug up she put in the dresser. Then it disappears and she puts the cloth back in that spot. Then next thing you know she pulls it out of the hay

 

I watched the first three episodes last night and was thinking the same thing the whole time. I think I'll dig that game out and fire it up for a spin.

 

Rockstar basically announced they're making another one

 

Seen that.

 

That would be awesome! That has to be the only FPS that I ever enjoyed playing (and finished the story line to boot).

But... I'd have to buy a new console probably

DAMN episode 3 was amazing. This show has now become "one of those that I can't wait every Sunday for"...Love it

 

x2 and then it's over and I realize that the next day is Monday plus I have 6 more days until the next episode....

Another great episode. Learned a little more about the man in black. Sounds like a savage outside of Westworld as well.

 

Also Ford knows literally everything and making sure management does not mess with his plans. Basically saying don't try to fuck with me or you'll be fucked

 

Was a cool scene between Maeve and Hector.

 

Forgot about that too, that was crazy. Wonder if she's going to remember the bullet next time or not

 

Maybe not. One of the two other guests thanked him (and his foundation?) for "literally saving my sisters life", to which he replied something about slitting the guys throat if he didn't get the f away, he's on vacation. They seemed surprised by that, meaning it was out of character from what they knew of him.
