I suggest that if you are going to haul a water tank around in your bed, you keep that tank either totally full or completely empty. A half full tank will allow the water to dynamically change the center of gravity of your truck as you take corners and accelerate and decelerate. Serious bad juju.

OP probably getting it "free".... not sure how that happens but anything is possible I guess given enough creativity. Kinda why I have a water meter at my home... just sayin.

Probably easier to "borrow" the neighbors hose and also get it "free", maybe worth a shot cant hurt askin??

You'll be fine. 2016 tailgates are much stronger than the 2nd gens (which I've had 400# on mine) and 900# is under gvwr. I would try to keep it from hanging over, lest you risk rupturing your tank. Also take it slow the water will slosh.

Just one question. Why don't you leave the hot tub full? We left the water in ours and emptied and refilled once per year. Just make sure you keep up on the chemicals (takes about a week to balance the PH) and your filter cycles. Also ozone purifiers work great.

100% agree. Be careful placing the water container too far back in the bed. Bad juju

    LS1 swap with nitros.
I'd use a trailer - much less chance of danger and you can haul more.

    Regarding units and measurements...

I'll give you credit for the Canadarm in the orbiter though.

I just carried two KTM dirt bikes, high lift, 20 gallons of fuel extra fuel, and all my gear. Total weight at least 900lbs and my truck did fine, even offroaded it lightly with full load. Tundra would've obviously handled it even better but my little Taco did just fine :)

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, looks like I may have tracked down a water hauler for this time and in the future will plan better and get a tank for the trailer to put in water for the tub before we get snowed in. To clarify some questions, the hot tub has been out of commission the past couple years, just getting it fixed now finally. Generally in the past we filled it twice a year & vigilantly kept up the filters & chemicals. We're on a well but can't refill from garden hose as our water is super hard, made that mistake once, won't do it again. Getting potable water locally in town is very cheap though if you have your own tank. Gallons/litres - no worries, I grew up in the States & in Canada for the past 20+ years so I'm used to both measurements! Cheers - and thanks for the props on the Canadarm hehe. :canada:

    Mostly stuff I built.
I regularly haul a 65 gallon tank in mine when camping. My full tank is about what you want to haul with yours half full. I'd say your good to go.

Tank in the bed being filled as picture was taken.
