    Hi all,

Long time reader first time poster. Learned a lot about these trucks particularly the 3rd gen, from this forum.

    Looking forward to future posts.

Nothing invasive for now, just minor cosmetic things.

Installed the Leer Trilogy X2T tonneau. Thinking of doing full led lights (inside/out) conversion, not sure about the quality of what's out on the market.

    Any suggestions?

Welcome! Hey, can use please post some pics of the X2T? Closed and then folded all the way and stacked vertically? I'm very interested in getting one as well and my Leer dealer told me last week that they still aren't available yet for Tacomas.

Any issues with the X2T latching for you? I went into my local Leer dealer today to have it installed. They told me 30 minute job when I ordered it and scheduled to bring the truck in. Short story is after 90 minutes of installation they tell me that the unit is defective - the passenger side won't latch. I read another post from an X2T owner that said he had latching issues when it was cold. I liked the X2T for all the other attributes, but getting concerned about the quality of the latches. Would love to hear your experience. Thanks.

The latches have to be aligned properly with the strike plates or they won't lock in.

I guess it might be a common issue with the passenger latch (nearest the tailgate) not locking in. It seems no matter how that one is adjusted, it is harder to lock sometimes.

Whenever that side doesn't want to lock, I step on the bumper and give it several strong pushes. Sounds ridiculous, but it works.

The install on my Tacoma took a long time as well, aligning all the components correctly is time consuming.

    Otherwise it's a good tonneau.

The LEER x2t seem like a good cover. I've read that the locks may not work all the time. Is this becoming a common problem with this product? I don't know why it difficult for the aftermarket to make a quality hard trifold cover. I don't want to buy the one with the cable mechanism because I think they are easily compromised with a hanger.

It is a very good tonneau. Yes, when new, it is sometimes difficult to get the last panel to latch in place, especially in colder temperatures. However with minor adjustments and "break-in" period, I no longer have issues with mine. Key is a careful installation.

I particularly like that it doesn't need drainage tubes installed into the bed and has a solid build; looks good on the Taco too.
