I have searched and read, somewhat mixed responses, but is there any reason you can't run the ARB fridge from the bed plug? Is the 120V AC in motion for the truck, not enough to keep it "stable"? Is there a better fridge then the ARB one to run in the bed that would work?

Thanks in advance for any answers

That might draw too much power for that plug... you may find it will blow the fuse.
Keep your power expectations low on that plug....

Have to see what ARB says the max amp draw is when the compressor cycles on. I want to say the bed outlet can't supply very much, but I don't have a number in front of me.

ARB fridges are really good on power and have a peak draw of around 7 or 8 amps when the compressor starts and then it settles in around 3 or 4 amps when running depending on workload and heat. That's a draw between 300 and 900 watts. The truck bed power is only rated for 100 watts in motion and 400 watts at idle. Not enough there to run a fridge period, not just the ARB ones.

Exactly. They are mainly designed to charge battery's for tools and lights or power a laptop or something

I think it would be fine on the 400w setting but it wouldn't be anywhere near as efficient as running it off 12v. You would be going from 12v>120v>12v in that configuration using the bed plug.

not to hijack a thread but is there a way to convert the inverter to 1000 watts. I would like to be able to run a small microwave.

Arb fridges work more efficiently on 12v as well.

I ran my arb fridge off the bed plug for a couple week until I got my dual batteries wired up, it worked fine but the inverter shuts off with the vehicle so you have to remember to turn it on every start up, and you can't turn it on while driving so it was a bit of a pain but got me by for a bit.

Double check your numbers, they should pull less than 1 amp/hr. I got 3 days on a packed ARB 63qt before low voltage cut off kicked on w/stock battery.

The 110v outlet will be fine, but you're better off with a constant power source.

This will highly depend on outside temps and how often the frige is running. But I do think the numbers above are off as mine had no issues running the fridge in the 100 amp mode.

    >1amp/hour is what arb says.

The 3 day example I gave was this summer(late July)in Idaho probably mid 80s during the day. I've also ran it out of a vehicle using a sealed lead acid battery and a 20 watt solar cell in the summer (North Carolina in June)while keeping items frozen for a full day. Yes, 100 watt plug will be golden, other than when your key is off your fridge turns into a cooler. As a cooler it doesn't work as well as a cooler would.

Yes, I've inflated an Exped MegaMat with a Soleaire SA-101 120v Electric Air Pump Inflator many times.

I ment the numbers you quoted were off, not your numbers.
And yes the op is much better off with a dedicated line! The bed plug could get him by until he is able to get the constant dedicated line.
    Sorry for the confusion.
