Added these Rough Country Lights as backup/work lights mounted under the rear bumper. Looks great

So far I've only had it up to about 60 MPH and it is still secure and not flapping around. I'm about to go for a drive, so I'll report back with a TIFU on how my Softopper lifted off the bed and caught fire.

Update: No fires, no snaps unsnapped, no straps unstrapped, and no noticeable wind noise.

Since I just barely took the Tonne off to add the Softopper, I'll take a stab at this.
Step 1: remove bolt on tonne cover and remove from bed. I would also remove the center post mounted to the front of the bed as it will interfere with the Softopper front window flap.
Step 2: Attach bed side rails with clamps (two per side). Note, on initial installation I had to switch out for the larger pivot pins they shipped, but wouldn't need to do this after initial installation.
Step 3: Assuming you have already assembled the folding frame with the canvas, attach to the pivot pins and secure with safety rings.
Step 4: Fold down canvas and fasten straps and snaps.
Step 5: Spill your full beer on tools and instructions while testing to see if Softopper is secure.

After initial assembly (took me about 90 minutes total), I think I could take the Softopper off and replace with tonne in less than 10-15 minutes.
Here are the installation instructions for the third gen: https://www.softopper.com/media/wysiwyg/OSCBInstructions.pdf

a lot of people have unused switch locations either on the left of the steering wheel or somewhere else. You can find switches just about anywehre for cheap. Got mine off ebay. Otherwise there is also switch-pro that apparently fits nicely in the cubby on the left side of the steering wheel.

can't help you on the 5100's as I speak stupid as well. I can tell you that 265/70/17's wont rub with the stock suspension. The pic below has those tires on it, with no suspension mod. SR5 2wd.

Thanks. I'm using the cubby for my P3 brake controller and have used the right blank spot for the voltmeter/USB ports but I could cut some holes to the extreme left. Nonetheless, thinking that there might be a 5-spot blank plate out there somewhere.

I'm drawing up a replacement piece for that panel that can hold 5 switches up top. I'm 3d printing it, I can see if it's any good and let you know. If you're interested.

Yes, most interested in an expansive switch plate. My bumper/lights/winch order is at least 4 weeks out so no need at the present. Let me know. Thanks!

Sounds good, I'll let you know. I'm trying to find the best way to secure it to the back of the bracket.

Well, almost got screwed. If I was someone who didn't know any better, this would be a HUGE screwing.

When they located the truck, they said it had a tonneau. It arrive with no tonneau. Then they said they'd order one and get it installed. Charged me $1345 on the cost of my truck (parted together its $900 and self install isn't covered under warranty). They called and said it was in and to bring it in today. Went there today, he told me to follow him to the shop to install (im thinking were going to their collosion center). We pull up at some crap ass off road shop. Im confused. We walk in and I asked if I could see it before they put it on. "It isn't unboxed yet but you can see one on display" At this point my anger instantly kicked in but I kept it cool on the outside. They showed me this Rugged Cover Premium Tri-Fold Cover. I told the sales guy this was not what I wanted and I knew damn well that cover wasn't more than $500 (I looked it up online later, it was $327 shipped). I asked for a refund right there on the spot. I was pissed. They tried to talk me into other covers, I kept refusing.

Anyhow, a $1345 check is being sent to me. Refund!
