they have done a lot of landscaping there and smoothed the majority of the green trails. still fun and stock vehicles can do it (be smart in some places and choose your line properly) but its way doable. They are makin that park awesome and expanding it startin in the spring to more of the mountain. it will almost double in size after they are done. that place is going to be one of the top parks in the east if they keep it up in a few years.

yea. i wont be on the west forever. heather's and my family are both in NC so itll be just a few years until we're back over here. you missed a good one though! those guys are looking to start an annual trip to AOP in OCT i think, based off AOP's Offroad Jamboree that took place that weekend. They do an annual meet at Land Between the Lakes (LBL) in KY in March, and now the AOP trip in OCT if you ever wonna get in on that. I would encourage everyone here to go too

I've been wanting to do LBL every year but March is always so busy and I end up missing it everytime.

@BYJOSHCOOK Will you go ahead and start updating the 1st post to have dates and who's going? We'll start filling in the details as more people get on to read.

I think we will have more success if we find a Saturday or Sunday and meet at Cabela's or Bass Pro. Between the leaf lookers and mall shoppers (I know where Bass Pro is - at least it's outside of a small mall) finding a place for a group to meet is going to be a little challenging.

And, I prefer (as do some others) to meet people before I go wheeling and camping with them. Not to filter them out, but to get to know a little about them (and them me), what they like to do, type of wheeling, type of camping, etc.

On a personal note, this group needs to get its act together, and meet. I have a bumper to build, and I want/need some help! ;)

    Duties: Navigator to trail heads.

That's why I suggested the Sugar Loaf Mall, it has a Bass Pro there plus it isn't too far from N. GA if people wanted to go camp

I know you, so I know what you can handle. It was the other guys I haven't met. I.E if they have 2wd, I'd recommend not doing certain trails

There are probably more eating places immediately around there than Cabela's.

...if you dont have the armor to get through most lines or a bumper with shackles to pull from either side to help people through tough spots (or atleast a winch) or more than 1 or 2 trips experiences, its prob not best to lead. You also have to take ego out of the equation and always keep in the mind the least capable vehicle or lowest comfort level of driver when picking routes and lines.

theres a little more to it than just volunteering. dont mean to crush dreams...but past (numerous) experience has shown those who chime in to take lead dont always know the way...

it appears you also have a stock '16. unless you're rolling on at least 33's with something other than A/T tires, the truck may not be suitable. unless you are looking at fire breaks and dirt trails, in which case I take everything back.

the only person i've really seen wheel is josh and although I think hes a little crazy offroad (o_O :p) I at least know hes been in difficult situations and managed to make it.

if I had thought about it, I wish I had mentioned the AOP meet in here since most of you guys are ATL or North of it and could have had a great, safe fun weekend. We had a guy with a stock tacoma and he learned a ton and wheeled that crap outa that thing!

I've got armor, I've been to lazy to take pictures and post them here and I never lead the trails, I explicitly stated navigator TO trail heads. When wheeling my ego is about as small as my puckered asshole.
