Stopping by the shop tomorrow after nothing happend in September, so I'll either have some juicy updates for October or none at all depending on what parts have been delivered. Have my fingers crossed!

    Updates! None... :annoyed:

Progress is slow, nothing has happened for the past two months and I'm getting impatient but it's not like I can drive the truck away and go somewhere else at this point. Still waiting on coiloverss and probably a few other parts as well it looks like. Sigh at this rate I do t think I'll have the truck back until next year.. Getting cabin fever. But the truck will be a totally different animal when I get it back.

Yep, The Truck Shop in San Diego. I really like those guys but its just taking forever! There were a few project trucks before mine that were just finished. They called me tonight saying they were held for the coilovers from King to finish up the back end, so they have not been able to do the mounts or coil buckets. They expect to have the shocks by next Wednesday to finish up the axle install.

All and all I would rather wait and have the work done right. Not in a rush but I miss the desert and camping! Getting serious cabin fever!

Overall these are my upgrade/rebuild goals. just hope they can get it all in, not sure how may will get done in this phase:
    -Engine Cage
    -Front Bypass Shock Mounts
    -Rear 3-Link w/Panhard
    -18" Rear King Coilovers
    -Hood Pins
    -Ford 9"+ Currie HD Axle
    -Mount/Paint Bedsides
    -Front Diff Gears/Seals/Locker 4.88
    -Repack drivers side CV Boots
    -New Skidplate
    -Mount/Paint Bedsides
    -Tub wheel well for 315/75R16
    -Custom rear dual swing-out bumper
    -Fully box frame
    -Solid engine and transmission mounts.
-New tires and rims? (BFG AT KO2 and beadlocks?)
-Under bed fuel or water tank (likely a future project)

Along with repairing or replacing a few items from a fender bender I had on the way back from camping in central Baja such as bumper, front fenders, headlight, frame horns, radiator fan, grill. *note I'll just run over the coyote next time..

Update: So my truck is now in worse condition than when I dropped it off 11 months ago. While the truck has been in the shop apparently someone broke in and ripped out my stereo. Including my subwoofer, amplifier, DVD/Nav, and radios.:(

Shop is indicating they'll replace the stolen items. Well see how it goes. My patience can only go so far, still hoping for positive outcome..

May be looking for a new venue in the future. Know anyone that can do decent fabrication work? I'll likely be in the market for an engine cage, rear swing-out bumper, box frame, exo cage? and lots of other little things once I get the truck back. May need to get a DD soon...

Maybe? Well she is hopefully safer now although there is not much left to take..

Work has finally restarted and it sounds like they are trying to get here up and out ASAP. Have a mechanic/fabricator working on her full time now.

New bumper is mounted, with mods to make it long travel comparable ongoing. Then fenders and bedsides can go out for paint.

Once of front end repairs are finished the back end should get some love. Going to get custom supports made for the shell so that it can be supported when on the fiberglass bedsides.

Giving them the benefit of the doubt, we'll see how everything gets sorted out.

Yea, I have been going there for some time and pointed many people their direction including my own family as we have several Toyota trucks. I am starting to feel better as I see it getting worked on more. There just seems to be a lot of turn around. May end up with an amazing mechanic/fabricator one turn and the next time around not so much. Seems like they have a set of new young guys now that seem pretty skilled.

On to shiny new truck parts! Fan, fan shroud, grill (chrome bla) bumper is half done.. Still waiting on King to build another set of shocks after they lost the first set. :coffee:

After the truck gets back from the shop I'm debating over some lighting upgrades... low quality paint mock up below. If I swap the turn signals to the corner lights it will allow me to load up the bumper. The install would only require me to drill one additional hole in the ARB as the ARB sticker, and old turn signals are already there. I may just need to expand the holes a little. Due to the angle of the ARB I'll get some great ditch and side overage.

Already have the first set of pods on route.
