Always get a written estimate or have a contract when doing business.
if ya don't... a stated word alone is not a binding agreement or contract...
and he said, she said hearsay, may not stand up in a court of law.

I personally would just fix the dent and leave the original door skin in place.
Removing/replacing a door skin often results in other issues if done poorly.

In other words... the factory door skin install will be stronger/have less corrosion issues
then installing a replacement skin... JMO

Tho' a quality body shop/tech can get that install fairly close.
It'll never be as good as it was originally.

Nothing wrong with bondo use... unless one uses that to hide the flaws
and does little to repair the damage first.

Bondo should be applied sparingly... to finish a repair.
    Not hide what wasn't repaired.

A quality body man can remake that door skin from virgin sheet metal.

Anybody employed in body work can get that "fairly close." It's not a hard repair to make, but it is time consuming and in a difficult area compared to easy dents that are in the middle of panels and not right on a curved body line.

we usually just do the door shell and with a new body style truck oem will be all that's available most likely. i don't have to do any of the ordering just the work and now doing fleet maintenance at a major airport they always get oem parts anyway. guys like you can answer many of these questions way better than i can

    I'd look for a slavaged/replacement door before attempting a re-skin.

Believing I'd never get the 1900 . And thinking here my Christmas bonus but I caught that no part thing so I asked him would he pull and bondo his own car he couldn't answer plus I caught him in a lie I ll just move on

I caught him in a lie that pretty much sealed his fate. Well everyone got great ideas and I can't go back to my neighbor and ask for more so I'm gonna go with my gut and say it was a after thought on the body shop to pull and bondo the door unless from jump he new even though he said new OME PARTS EITHER WAY im not letting him get the work but he did really screw my whole shit up

    Too few to list.
I've seen a good PDR straighten worse than that. Get another estimate at another body shop elsewhere and perhaps a PDR estimate as well.

Explain the situation to your neighbor, write him a CHECK and return the $1900 and call your insurance company

I swear to this every time I put up a tread. A lot of people talk smack because I'm a little lazy and a little PTSD OUT and right away oh my grammar who care we re talking cars
Some of the best Mechanics I knew were illiterate. It not funny but true maybe my age is showing a little but I don't think any of the guys giving me a hard time are over 40 and if they were I'd be shock because they sure don't act like it
