Good deal for sure, hard to tell from the pics but it looks like its seen better days? Regardless, shouldn't be hard spending a few hours cleaning and detailing it and I'm sure you could make a profit.

If you want a shell for sure, you better not let this deal go. You'll regret it.

had one. both front corner's of the bed leaked when it rained. the sliding windows leaked. i broke two windows in it and couldn't get replacements so i had to settle for plexi glass.

took three people to move every time i needed to move it.

it wore a hole in my paint on the driver's side front corner of the bed.

    hated it.

After reading this I might pass up the deal, cause I plan on wheeling a lot and don't want my gear and things to get wet.

I'm not saying they are garbage, i'm just saying my experience with a used one was absolutely terrible.

A majority of the people that have them love them.

I just didn't want to chase leaks and have any more glass to clean up. Plus i now have a trifold tonneau and my bed stays more dry than it ever did and i can still haul my bikes

Love mine. Bought it two years ago already paint matched. The driver's side glass has been replaced by plexiglass, but still functions like a windoor should. Mine doesn't leak at all, but I moved the cap closer to the cab, so I could draw the rear window tight with my Voodoo tailgate cover. It has removed some of the powder from the tailgate cover. $350 is a damn good price.

I paid $900 for that top in 2007. I paid $1400 for one 6 months ago for an F-150. Unless it has some factory options that is Leer's basic top and the least expensive. Nothing wrong with that, I don't want all of the bells and whistles. I'd say $300 is a good price.

That's a good price. If you don't like it I'm sure you would be able to sell it for what you paid for it. Maybe even more.

Looking at the one you posted pics of, it doesn't have windows, I can see the white interior so no carpet, no problem install, and can't see the front window.

Great price and you will like it. Have one myself. Sliding side windows, insulated ceiling, with dual latches on back was around 1000 bucks new.

The cap the OP posted pics of. He was asking if it was a good deal.

If you get some leaks it isn't the fault of the cap. Tacoma's have a funky bed rail at the front of the 2nd gens that makes it all but impossible to install the cap without some leaking. Especially with some age. I'll have a small puddle, but never enough to cause a problem.

@RigginsTaco For $350 I'd buy it regardless of the color. Love my Leer. Can't remember what I paid for mine but it was $600 or $700 used many years ago. Mine has developed some leaks in the corners (most likely due to old seals that could use replacing) and some in the roof where I drilled holes to install the roof rack (again could use new silicone sealant). My windows do not leak at all.
If you do decide to sell your SoftTopper, let me know. I've entertained giving one a shot, but don't wanna pay retail just to see if I like that route better than the hardtopper.

Buy it. A little bit of silicone caulk and a spot or two of some extra foam seal should seal the water out of the front corners. I would definitely plan on replacing the original bulb seal prior to installing it though.

I have the XR100 but I like the simplicity of the 100R, and the dual handles. I used to have it on my old Toyota pickup (pre-Tacoma)
