I agree. I saw a segment in a MotoIQ article, at last year's PRI show (I think it was). Where a company had on display a dual OHC swap available. Game changer for the LS. As there is no denying that DOHC heads flow more.

For a future project perhaps.

i got my cylinder heads back the other day from port and polishing. I mocked them up on friday and installed roller rockers to make sure i had no clearance isssues or piston to valve interference everything is perfect. I was sent the wrong head stud kit so the new one will be arriving today and ill be able to put the engine back together and paint it and put it back in the frame. I have a small crack in the bell housing of my trans that i need to repair and then paint the trans. Hopefully by the end of the week it will be back together and i can put the body back on to mock up wiring and then take body back off and fix all unwanted holes and paint the engine bay.

finally got the engine all together. painted it an put it in its home!! it was a exciting step in this build. ill be mounting the trans hopefully today or tomorrow. still have to fix the crack in the bell housing.

 

i was gonna post more pictures today but photobucket is down. i welded up the crack on my trans and welded bungs onto the radiator for upper and lower hose. Also welded the thermostat housing and water pump. should be able to coat the trans in a day or so. got my wheels back yesterday and mounted the tires. waiting for the rest which ill have monday.

I guess since pics aren't working I can tell yall (and you'll just have to use ur imagination) I ran a 9 flat in the 1/4 mile last night and this morning shot a typical 14 point that will most likely be the new world record... just have to wait 30 days for official measurements...

so got some of my powder coat back, i was able to weld the crack on the trans and coat it and do some other welding.

so when this thing is all buttoned up, whats the plan for the wheels/tires? or just the overall use of the truck? Tires are aggressive and oversized now and I know you still have the Icon goodies. keeping it an "offroad" truck or you going to swap all that out and go for more of a "track" route..
