They are lights (usually mounted at the base of the windshield) that point down to the ditches to the side of your truck so that you can see any obsticals if your turning while going off road at night. The best examples I know of are Bob's @NYCO

See the light pointing right at the camera on the drivers side and away towards the ditch on the passengers side near the snorkel?

There is a LOT more to good lighting than lumen count. You want a good pattern that actually puts all those lumens where you want them. Any cheap Chinese knockoff brand can make a light with a high lumen count, very few will come even remotely close to competing with Rigid, VisionX or Baja Designs as far as producing usable light.

 Cool. Thanks Rebecca. My wife was telling me all that I forgot that we had planned with the kids activities this weekend. Tonight was trunk or treat at Jacob's school. Followed by dropping Justin off at the train to see his mom and then we went out to eat (I just got home). Tomorrow morning is work then a Halloween party put on by my son's Cub Scout's. Sunday morning is grocery shopping, come home watch the Patriots game and then my wife gets home from work I hope to crash to catch up on some sleep but probably won't because of some honey-do that she will come up with!!! Can't wait to go back to work and do nothing on Monday!
    NP. His pictures are great!
I know but it's not for me so I can experiment on someone else's dime. Lol. Honestly he might do it but he would never spend the $400-$600 for the name brands

I may not be sober thanks to a Halloween bar crawl. I was Jack Daniel's, she was Coke Cola.

I just need some pizza. Then a nap.

Maybe some money towards my truck after all that.

    Already at work...yay.

Opening day of deer season and I'm stuck at the office 8-1. Went out this morning until 7:30 and then packed up and bolted for the office. Got here at 7:59, lol. Going out again after work, but I'm annoyed because most of the activity on my game cam has been around 10-12. :gah:

Wait... He bought a Raptor but spending a couple hundred bucks on good lighting is where he draws the line?

If you decide you want to go to ditch lights with the Raptor, I have brackets that I've been trying to sell for a bit.

I also have a pair of Rigid Dually D2 hyper spots I'm selling a lot cheaper than new but they ar unused as far as I can tell. If he wants some top notch lighting at a much reduced rate, let me know.

I got here at 7:57 with a customer following me in. The lights were not even turned on and he was asking me about parts before I even got to my computer o_O

I bought Amazon specials and did a humidity test on them at my old job before. They didn't last more than an hour under normal rain conditions. . .
