Ok, I'm slowly becoming old and less computer savvy. Recently my parents dumped on me all their old VHS tapes from when I was growing up and I really want to convert them to digital format. Now I would prefer to go through a tape and divide clips into individual mp4's manually. What would I need to accomplish this? I googled "VHS to MP4" and all I get are ways to convert VHS tapes to DVD with an adapter and software, but I don't want them as a DVD format, rather just mp4's. What hardware and software would be recommended for this? Thank you for helping a slowly aging old man!

They did some stuff for my wife a couple years back. She did the VHS to DVD but if I remember correctly they had other options such as MP4, AVI, WAV, ect. and they would send them on a flash drive or disk.
    Good Luck
