What was the average install time? People were telling me a "couple " hours. I need a more exact estimate lol

Since everyone works at their own pace with different levels of mechanical experience, and the need for beer breaks, I think a couple hours is a fair estimate. If you're looking for an exact time, talk to a mechanic and have them quote you.

So two hours with two mechanical savvy guys and NO beer breaks? Lol

3.5+ hours average realistically. If you've already removed your bumper cover before and know where the hidden attachment points by the headlights are, how the fender flares attach ect. You're very confident in your cutting ability and have your winch and lightbar all mounted up and wiring harnesses ready to go you could get it done pretty quick. If your like me and haven't taken apart the front of a 3rd gen or have 0 body cutting expierence you'll probably take a little more than 2 hours and be sure your not breaking anything lol. The wiring on winch was cake and I'm using a sp8100 for the light bar so there was no problems for me
Overall it's a easy install but if this is your first time taking this truck apart there will most likely be a couple small slowdowns in progress.

I also did it solo. Do you even lift bro?! JK:muscleflexing:

There is tons of room when you open the hood between the rad and the grill to reach down and access the clutch. However I did have to drill a hole in the brace to be able to plug the controller in. Hope that helps. Bellow is the same photo just different angles.

Are the OEM bumper pieces worth anything? I just put them up for on the 3rd parts page. first person to trade me a six pack of IPA takes it as of now lol.

That aluminum crash bar should recycle for .40-.50 cents a pound! You're looking at least a couple bucks.

Lol I'm gonna hold out for the beer. I was thinking about making an herb garden in my garage out of the low speed plastic crash absorber lol.

Oh man, I forgot about that piece. Probably because it went into the garbage almost immediately after it came off.

We've had a lot of great feedback from the one installed on our SEMA Tacoma.

No garage but I have now designated a "parts room" in the house. Other half is not pleased. Apparently the newly appointed parts room is to become a nursery so I need to start clearing shit out. I've got the same crash bar sitting there, along with remnants of the OEM rear bumper. I posted things for sale but so far no luck. Maybe I can turn it all into a mobile to hang from the ceiling to bide more time.

Ive been hanging on to everything ( bed box, controll arms ect) just in case the unthinkable happens and toyota offers a V8 or TD tacoma and I need to trade mine in. I figure this bumper is definatly more of a permanent change though.

Very nice build! I gotta go see some of these in person next year!
I'll also have to look into the performance fire extinguisher and see why we don't carry any on our engines. :D

Just a heads up to everybody, somebody just offered me 75 bucks for the black plastic trim piece. Not a ton of cash but pays for half a bubba rope:thumbsup:
