Good to know. I figured the RCV cvs would be bullet proof since they offer a lifetime breakage warranty

Was this for a standard Tacoma IFS? Or long travel IFS?

doest matter about length they can throw any length shaft in there... its more like the joints and what they will use... trying to make something thats relatively bomb proof over a full range of travel and steering locked without breaking is what they are looking into

I'd think RCV could design a bomb proof Tacoma axle looking at the inner and outer possibilities. In fact, I'd think that the current weak link in most long travel setups is the factory front differential -- esp. housing. Does anyone know of someone with a long travel Tacoma, who has replaced the front differential with a stronger one? A build link?

RCV stopped offering their axles because they were spitting grease. We are working with them now to get their design perfected. We are hoping to see them back on the market in the near future.
We haven't had anyone break an RCV axle, that I'm aware of...

You could always buy a currie center carrier and get like 20" of travel.

TC 3.5 LT, RCV axles, Demello sliders, BD light bar/fogs, LP6, DMZ rear, SOS skids, custom bumper, King 16" triples, Locked-on hydro rear bumps...
I would def familiarize yourself with all the LT kits out there. I am going with the TC race 3.5 because that track width can fit in pretty much any trail. Since you are in the scene in Colorado you will probably have more opportunity to open up than I will here. Depending on track width limitations and your options for the rear, might help dictate what kit to go with. If I lived in the west then I would of done my rear differently and probably went for DTF or something as their numbers are crazy. I assume you would cage the whole rear? If so, Giant motorsports has some good travel with their kit as well. LT can be a crazy beast once you start to dive into it.

Search for Front Range Off Road's "Cookie Monster" 3rd-gen 4runner build. It's running the newer 8" front diff in place of the 7.5" diff. The rig also has a +2.5" LT kit he designed with 37s. It's a crawler, not a hauler. He is going to release in the very near future an adapter to run the 8" diff in place of the 7.5" diff. Can't wait to get my hands on it. 37s standing by for my first-gen Tundra.

Yes, Why? It's a TC front with a custom built link rear, cell, Seq axle. Not much more that it's built for everything from snow (obviously) to week long trips to Baja.
