All 3 are coiled tubing injectors. The one that looks a bit like a power swivel is a mast unit from extreme. Big multi piece real estate using junk if you ask me. One is a key unit and the other is my Halliburton EQR unit. That job was a very good outing for us. R/U drill 23 plugs a R/D in <24 hours. We smoked the other people out there

Lol. They have R/U and R/D time figured into the contract in old Mexico. They literally had 18 hours of time allowed for a 15k head and pump skid R/U. It took them 20, so they got charged 2 hours of down time.

Good night that's terrible. Nothing worse than a long slow R/U or R/D. The main reason I dislike fishing jobs, usually a miserable time rigging for a short lived job, but in this market we take anything we can get

Still plugging away in south Tx mostly with the coil unit. Doing some work out around college station, some stuff in La, and such also.

It's coming back slowly. Land is first, then the shelf, then deepwater maybe early/mid next year. Oil companies are coming to grips that the big money is gone and they'll have to budget at $50-60/bbl.

Good job fellas. Just so long as I don't have to come back early from my days off.

Mr. Brake Weight, I love the username first off. Secondly, that picture is a nightmare. I've been in the drilling industry for few years now. I worked up in WY and ND back in 2014/2015 then when prices took a dump I headed back home to Reno a landed a job with a smaller water well company. I left that position to go into geothermal drilling in hopes of getting back onto a triples rig, after two months and not a minute on the floor I got laid off. So now I'll be rock scaling with little portable rigs on cliff faces. I've got some friends trying head back to WY but who know what'll happen. Stay safe my friends!

West Texas is supposedly the 'next big thing'. I don't know any company names but it's picking up fast. I just finished well control school last week and there were 6 of us total. Two years ago there were 12. The time before that you had to wait for an opening to available.

    Good luck.

I have nothing but respect for anyone who works in this industry. I am SO glad I am retired from it now. I don't miss working 12+ hours everyday, in the cold, in the heat, when I was sick or when I was exhausted from the previous 30 days straight, or more, on the job. I was out of my mind for doing this crap for 30+ years... But I guess it got me retired, and with all my limbs and digits. Mid-stream gas is okay for an old man but drilling rigs are for the youngsters.

Get on a new cyber one. I sit in a nice Recarro seat inside a climate controlled and intrinsicly safe doghouse all day. Computer, streaming music/I❤️Radio, WiFi, and a double burner Bunn coffee pot. Joy stick controls now, though I do miss the speed of a hand brake. The only thing my system doesn't have is max PSI for he pumps. Other than that it's virtually worm proof if you set the parameters right. Drilling or tripping. Most stands per hour will average around 28-30. I hit 33-35 every now and then. But between 9&3 breaks and lunch at 11 it's a short run that fast.

Made myself a cool sticker last week.

They’re spending some money on platform maintenance down here but drilling has nearly ground to a halt for the 4th quarter. They’ve got 2-3 more of these cruising around within eyesight of us.

College kid here about to graduate with a degree in accounting and finance. Anyway I could possibly break through with a drilling job on a rig? I'm serious

I heard Nabors is taking new hires on land. I don’t have any contact info for them but it should be online.

hey guys. figured Id introduce myself. I worked mudlogging straight out of school on deepwater rigs. Really nice. Being a ML sucked but the lifestyle was good, lasted about 1.5 yr before prices fell.

When oil fell apart I got brought into the office to work on a new drilling optimization service. Due to poor management that sorta fell apart.

I got crosstrained for MWD luckily due to all the partial crews that started to become popular and landed a spot in our remote operations center. It's a good gig. usually 7x7 (schedule shifts due to vacations and illness) and the pay and benefits are great considering it's one of the big 3. Not offshore pay (no dayrate) but you're out of the 'field personnel' distinction which makes you a little less vulnerable actually. Running remote MWD makes it easy - the DDs or dayhand MWD rigs everything up and we remote in for our shift. The catch is you have to run 3 to 4 jobs at a time.

Our manager IS hiring however since there's so much talent out there he's picky. Will NEED prior MWD experience, and to be fast with computers. Running 3 or 4 jobs drilling 200-500 ft/hr and also staying on top of the paperwork for all of them isn't a cake walk.

Located in Houston. There's rumors they're attempting to start up a remote center in Oklahoma too.

Sounds interesting. Not like on location watching movies all night or playing 4-way or online Call of Duty. Lol.

I actually work for an ERP company and our clients are bunch of drilling companies. I know that there is a bunch of work picking up in Midland.

I'll let you know if any of our clients are hiring drillers. Ever since the whole price per barrel drop, drillers were the first to be fired and then the coordinators had to take the driller positions but it's slowly turning around.

I'd disclose some of the clients but majority of them signed NDA's but if anyone is looking for work in Texas, I'll let you guys know; sometimes clients ask us if we know anyone to hire. Sometimes they look for data entry personnel to input data into our software such as daily reporting data, drilling information, or simply tracking assets, AR/AP/PO's, etc.

With things looking up in the industry a strange thing happened yesterday. I received the ever dreaded phone call from HR telling me about downsizing...yada yada. Today I am now scratching my unemployed ass after 17 years of steady work. 22 of us from a 5 rig company got the axe yesterday.

That sucks man, sorry to hear the news. Mitigate your debt if you have been stacking it up lately. You may get a call back in the next few months
