After lots of research and advice and some work, I thought I'd start a build page for my 1996 Xtra cab. Its a 3.4L v6 2wd manual

This is the day that I got it. Pretty stock

The first thing I did was get new wheels and tires, and put in a K&N filter.
    Above: 215/70/14

    Below:
    KMC XD 122 Endure wheels, 15" x 7", 3.76 backspacing, -6 offset
    Michelin 235/75/15 tires, all season

The front tires rubbed a bit when i would turn. I shaved down the plastic portion of the bumper a little bit and that helped, but I needed to lift it.

I decided to go with Fabtech 3" spindle lift for the front so I could keep my stock suspension. I went with Wheelers Off Road Progressive AAL, and Bilstein 5100 for the rear

Nice rig dude! Your camper top+roof racks look good.
