Like when I swapped my 08 oem wheel for a nice 2013 oem wheel......airbag plus cover $150 shipped from AE. Everywhere else wanted $300-600.

Time for a spare wheel............so you have a perfect one on hand. I actually bought a wheel cheap.....that didn't have the rear plastic cover. That is only part you cannot get without buying a wheel. So I have my spare but didn't end up with it on purpose.

the key is to clean and condition regularly. I believe this will help you get the most life from your wheel.

Have someone done it on a 2016 sr taco? Is it doable without the 2sided tape?
I was going to buy it but when I saw that I needed to put 2 sided tape it changed my mind...

I wonder if the tape is even needed, since you tuck it into those gray plastic trim pieces, which are pretty tight already...
I have a leather wheel already, but want to protect it, and I want the red stitching that this cover offers.

Good luck installing it bro! Practice your patience and don't give up hahaha if you do it right is going to look awesome! I am definitely going to do it if you tell me that I can install it without the tape..

Please if you can, take some pics of the process!!!

Mine is an SR and I will not be using the tape

Just like squatting said I think with the plastic covers on the wheel and the fact the wheel has 4 posts, after stitching it together I don't think it'll be going any where

Sorry for the late reply guys

Yeah I finally got the cover from Ali express in and I left it on the kitchen counter and my dog destroyed it...

And I had to return my 2017 sr and I picked up a trd or as a replacement and it already has the leather wheel

But on that note I would recommend the kit it seemed really good quality and was worth the $20 and 2 week wait

On my 17 trdor I just bought a leather cover from wall mart to protect it

Really needing seat covers now... tired of a towel on the seat and center console

I'll give you the 20$ for the kit if you are willing to sell it!

in my last vehicle forum (VW R32) a few of us sent our steering wheels out for a custom alcantara wrap. cost was about $300 total and being without the wheel for a few days. and the results are totally amazing. one of the outfits that did it is linked below. the pic below is a tundra wheel just as one example. custom stitch colors etc etc. custom work at a good price.

For those who are still interested.. i am going to do a write up for the leather cover that I bought today on Amazon.. it's going to take about 2 weeks to arrive..

I hesitated to buy it a few months ago because I wanted to install it without the double sided tape.. and I just saw a video on YouTube and the guy recommended to NOT use the double sided tape, so I just bought it..

    I'll keep you posted.

I just sew the leather steering wheel cover on my sr... I completely removed my steering wheel.. all the control parts, airbag.. everything.. took it to my house and spent 3 hours sewing... super tedious.. I had a headache after I finished but the result was whey better than I thought..

Now I have a fancy leather steering wheel on my sr... it looks like it came from factory.. I am surprised... I highly recommend it.. it feels so nice!!!!!
