Where do you purchase new hard lines? I have a feeling doing this with my Tacoma will be a disaster.

If you want them prebent and flared with flare nuts, go to Toyota dealer parts counter.
My local dealer sells online, so I always make sure they give me that price and not retail list price.

Have a part number by any chance? I'm having a tough time finding one online.

Just call up any dealer parts counter over the phone... Once you get the number, verify with Internet catalog, then order from lowest cost dealer. Easy 10 minutes of work...

Well I discovered, much to my dismay that while I won the battle in the rear, the war is not over.

The front passenger side hard line will not separate from the hose. Same shit as the rear. To be clear, the flare nut was loosened, and vise gripped 5-6 full 360* turns, but hose and nut will not separate.

I reached out to an expert who has a ton of experience, and he tells me that it's the factory over torquing the nuts which is deforming the flare.

I am posting the diagram and parts list below for the good of all TW and the WORLD.

For the front passenger side it looks like I need Toyota Part No.: 47314-04150, TUBE, FRONT BRAKE No. 4 $5.69

Just found this thread Nick @Crom. As you already know, I was having the exact same trouble a week or so ago while trying to install my OCTaco extended brake lines. Failed at that attempt. But I was still coherent enough to stop, take a deep breath and not round off any flare nuts

I'm gonna give it another go in a couple weeks.

    Here's plan A:
    1. Ordered AeroKroil. It should arrive in a few days. I'll continue to soak ALL the joints with PB Blaster and switch to Kroil when they arrive. Should be fully soaked in two or three weeks.
    2. Order 10" curved Jaw Vice Grips. I already have a 7" and another 10" straight jaw, but an extra 10 incher might be the ticket.
    3. Grab my new GearHead 10 mm flex head flare nut wrench and easily unscrew the flare nuts because of the three week daily penetrating oil soaking. If that doesn't work...

    Plan B:
    4. Use the Vice Grips method as you described in this thread.

    Plan C:
    5. Go to a shop to fix what I have messed up.

Edit: Just saw this a couple earlier pages. Ordering now. Should work better, since my flare nuts aren't rounded off yet.

    Wish me luck all!

Hey so dumb question because I'm about to replace the hard line on my rear passenger brake line... How hard was it? You had to drop the gas tank right?
