3rd Annual Moab Trip - Nov '16

Yeah there are numerous 2wd friendly trails. The first that come to mind are hurrah pass and Chicken Corners. You take hurrah pass to get to Chicken Corners. Also if I remember correctly from last year gemini bridges road is totally doable in 2wd.

I found tacomaworld the same way. Bought my truck, stumbled onto this site, and now thousands of dollars later here I am!

 

@kevinlambchops I just did Gemini Bridges yesterday and can confirm it's 2wd friendly. I only kicked it into 4 for one little spot but could've done it in 2 if I took my time.

 

@12thmanhawkfan thanks again for your write up. I found out yesterday what you mean about the exit being the gnarliest part of Hell's Revenge. The trail was great, fun obstacles, killer scenery. Some of those rocks on the way out though were brutal for my mostly-stock truck.

 

Haha yeah nobody talks about the exit of Hells Revenge. Glad you made it out in one piece!

 

Funny you made the comment about camping at TOTW, did that my first time running the trail and never bothered setting up the tent. Truck was being blasted by wind all night long, I didn't get much sleep


@Digiratus How far did you make it down hole in the rock, I attempted it 2 years ago and half the guys were not going further after this happened so everyone called it. Me and 2 others wanted to finish but figured we would be a team player

 

Dang! I wanted to to Hole in The Rock but didn't have enough time to do it. Looks like it's a trail better done with a partner.

 

Not sure exactly. I want to say that we nearly completed it but since I've never been there before, it is difficult to be certain. IIRC, it was about 18 miles in, measured from the half-track.

Once we get to that point in our photographs, you'll be able to see and maybe recognize the spot where you guys turned around.

Yeah and go prepared, closest gas station is the airport but still some miles from the trailhead. My group planned on 2-3 days for the trail and we were on the move the entire time. I wheel alone most of the time but this is one trail Id be a little hesitant unless I had enough supplies for a couple of extra days, but if you get hurt your SOL

Just after this steep drop off is about where we made it, after this part the trail really picks up difficulty wise

 

Yeah, I remember that spot. We definitely made it as far as that obstacle but it was not long after that point where we turned around.

 

Yeah it goes up afterwards and then it gets pretty skinny with a decent drop off while being off camber and big ledges. Man I really wanted to finish that trail, its supposed to have a killer spot at the end where you can see the "hole in the rock"
