Do a search on here and they show how to make a re-usable one from a house air filters. Total cost is right around $20.

I believe I'll start buying that $5 listed above with my next Amazon order. I just ordered about $100 worth of crap last night off Amazon too. Dammit.

These are what I buy. I run Purolator in engine...pick them up when in sale at Advanced Auro or Amazon.

Any recommendation on the engine air filter?
That will probably be next. It was listed in the "yellow" probably needed attention in the future.

+1 for the charcoal filter. PO was a smoker, and the charcoal filter I installed a couple months ago has been money well spent!

OEM oil filter and air filter is all I will use.

I do all service items myself. I bought the first cabin filter from the dealer for 35 bucks that I installed myself !
I got 7 of them (delivered) from Rock Auto for the same price ...

The last time I was at a Toyota dealership getting my leaf springs replaced, I saw a service advisor walking into the child's play area, with a cabin air filter so choked with debris he had to hold it horizontal to a mother. In my opinion, this should be a complimentary service by Toyota, instead of charging for a service that simple.

My dealer used to change them for free. Owners of the Ford dealership in town bought them and the filters went from $15 to $28 and it's costs $22 to put the new one in ($50 total to replace and install). Of course it's free to put the old one back in. WTF?

I didn't change mine till it was 8 years old and half the stuff that was laying on top, I could believe made it to the filter. My fans volume of air at least doubled and will not let it go that long again. I still haven't been able to reinstall the shock on the dash door compartment, so it stays on after Toyota did a multi point inspection and didn't reinstall it, leaving it in there after checking the filter.

Just bought two OEM engine air filters for $15/ea and two OEM cabin air filters for $10/ea via Amazon sellers. Self-install takes minutes if you're slow and take your time.
