I decided to go with Kings over Icons. The ride is so much better.

    It's a 6" Suspension Lift.

I had Icons on a previous model Tacoma that why I changed over to Kings. They are a smoother ride all around. Don't get wrong Icons are good but Kings are better.

Thanks, and yes it is 4WD. Built more for street use but ready for offroad when needed. Im not a big offroader but fully capable of it.

Did the previous Tacoma with Icons also have a 6" lift?

that is nice. Which lift did you get. Basic or performance. It sucks to buy a lift and then have to change the shocks to better ones. I wish you could just buy the parts for the lift then buy your own leaf pack, coils and shocks. I was on fabtech site and it says the 6"lift does not fit the Baja version which is what I have. Any idea? thought it have the same leaf and front end as a regular TRD?? any input would be appreciated

You can buy just the suspension lifts. Just order the box 1 and box 2 packages from Fabtech. Order your rear springs and shocks seperate from whoever you want. Just make sure when you order your new springs and shocks that they are "made to order" for the size lift your are getting.

Watchout for some companies giving you the go around on getting the shocks "made to the order" you want. Some will say we need demensions and all kinds of other stuff. I made a quick call to King and took all but 5 minutes to get mine ordered. No hassel at all.

Also keep in mind that these made to order parts will take 3 to 4 weeks. Dont expect any sooner. You can plan out and order everything to show up within the same week and get started without having to wait.

I little bit better explination on the valving for shocks. Just have to determine which setup is best for your style of driving is all.

    Valving Characteristics
A shock absorber uses different valves and springs to adjust the dampening force of that particular shock. There are three types of valving characteristics that dictate how the shock will perform. They are progressive, linear, and digressive. Progressive shocks start out soft and get stiffer quickly as the shaft speed increases. Linear shocks uniformly increase stiffness as the piston speed increases. It is similar to the progressive valving but does not make dramatic changes at higher speeds. Digressive is just the opposite of progressive. It starts out stiff, then it tapers off.

I LOVE your set up. Clearly, you have done your homework. Would you be so kind and post the links to the "box 1 and 2" you got From fabtech and which springs and shocks you got :) trying to price a few things out..

I have the same rear shocks, do they oxidize (or stain) immediately after you drive in the rain or go in mud? Mine do, I have to polish them every couple weeks or they get real bad with spots that are hard to get out

Have run kings on our racecar (jeepspeed) since I was a kid and have had them on all of our trucks. They also have great customer service if you give me a call or get a chance to stop by their shop in Garden Grove. I'll never run another brand of shock

Good to hear. ICON's custom service is worse than shit. If I ever get different suspension down the line, it'll be Kings.
