    Hey Guys!

I am new here and I have been reading tons of forums about what I should do to level my truck. I have literally read over 100 pages about this stuff, but I have a question regarding my own setup I am thinking about running. Just as a background on my truck, I have a 2009 TRD Sport DCSB and I am about 1.25" lower in the front and I just want to level it out really. Hunting and fishing are my hobbies, so I just want it well enough equipped to get me to some spots that I go to. It won't be wheeled as it is my DD, so I don't need anything too crazy for a lift. I want to run some 17" Wheels with 265/70/17 A/T tires on them. I stopped into the Off Road shop near home to see what we could do to get mine leveled. He kept recommending the Readylift 2.25" front and 1" Rear block. I have not read too many great things about that specific combo though. Seems that everyone is saying to go Bilstein 5100's and OME Coils. Also, which coils? I am not sure between the 883 and the 884 as I do not need much of a lift. However, I have read some negative things about this setup as well. Clunking and what not. So I need to know what you guys think? Again, I am new here and I just want to thanks everyone for all the helpful info that is out there already!

Also, here is a pic of her the day I got her. Many more mods to come!

It depends on your budget. We offer a few different coil options that will work on the factory strut, or you can upgrade those too. You can just lift the front and not touch the rear, or you can do both. You can run our C59-302 and get a 40mm lift (1.6") on the front, then leave the rear alone. Or you can add new shocks front and rear too if you want. If you just want to level it out, that's one easy way. The thing with front spacers is they have to be a certain thickness to be able to bolt in there.

Loving my new Icon setup. It is truly an upgrade. The adjustibility offers whatever ride height suits you. Of course they are significantly more expensive than the parts you mention. I plan on keeping my truck for life so I try not to skimp anywhere. Especially something as important as suspension. My Tacoma is also my daily driver and only vehicle, besides the wife's Highlander.

I am probably going to look into just lifting up the front. Personally, I think the rear end sits pretty well on it now. I might end up replacing the shocks all around too. My only worry with that is how will the stock coils do with an aftermarket shock?

Has anyone here left the rear alone and put Bilstein 5100's on the front with the Toltec-Eibach 112-620 coils? How is the ride quality?

Daily driver on LT265/70R17 BFG All Terrains with Bilstien 5100's set on the second notch giving me 1.75" in the front with the factory coil springs and Bilstien 5100 rear shocks with a 1" Ready Lift block. I drive 35 miles one way to work and have no complaints on the ride quality. Great highway manners and handles anything I throw at her here on the farm.

Doesn't sound like a bad setup. I drive 45 miles one way to work and I travel every so often, so highway manners is kind of important to me.

Alright guys, I talked to Marie at Headstrong and I have finally decided what I am going to go with. I am going with Bilstein 5100's in the front with OME 885 coils. Should give me roughly about 2.5" in the front. Then in the rear, I am going to go with a 1" block and Bilstein 5100 rear shocks. Should give me the lift I want and level out my ride. Going with some 265/70 17 A/T tires and some new wheels. Either some FN Pro Wheels or some Pro Comp 7005 wheels. I will post up some pics once I have it done!

I just ordered that combo from Toytec. I expect the ride to be firmer.

Wow! That escalated fast! From a spacer lift to 5100's all around w/ new coils in the front & blocks in the back. An AAL or adjustable shackle is better for the rear if you plan on ever hauling stuff.

That is what TW does to a guy, things always seem to escalate quickly once you join this forum! Won't be hauling much of anything though, really just trying to get it leveled out. That is what is most important to me as of right now.

How does the setup ride? Trying to decide the 885 coils or eibach for 1.6". I'm adding a brushguard and winch and want to stay close to level or factory rake or less.

    2.5in w/ rancho RS9000s, AAL, ECGS bushing
OP sounds like a good set up, I've got something similar to yours but Rancho instead of Bilstein, and an AAL instead of a block. One other thing you may need is the ECGS bushing if you start getting front diff noise, tons of info on here about post lift front end noise. This is something I found out after I lifted my truck.

Well I actually haven't lifted it up yet. I put new wheels and tires on it and I have no rubbing or clearance issues. 17" Pro Comp 7005 Wheels and 265/70 17 BFG KO2 tires. I am going to lift the front up a bit and leave the rear alone. I will probably do Bilstein 5100's all around with OME 883's up front. This is how she sits now.

No, TW convinces you to go with the Big three lifts (King, Icon or fox) ha after months and months decided to bite the bullet and got a icon. Although that 5100 lift will be great!

1" lift from 3rd gen suspension, 265/75/16 ATs
    Truck looks great!

883 with 5100's should be a solid setup. I was planing to order just that, but since I'm on a budget ended up going with 3rd gen TRD suspension and got just a hair over 1" of lift up front and ride is great. Either OR or Sport will give you that. I may still do 883s with 5100s next time around, but for now I'm very happy with the result. Just like you, I'm on same overall size tires (265/75/16 in my case).
