Another thing is that because of them being on an angle the shocks progressively get less effective throughout the travel because the angle theyre at will increase. That cant really be fixed with regular valving.

unless you want the most articulation i prefer the shocks being as straight up as possible and as close to the wheel as possible. That gives the most stable and consistent ride. The downsides are that your limited to the length of shock used inside the frame (without going through the bed) and youl need less backspacing to put them outside the frame.

I'm seeing a lot of different kits I prefer to go with everything OEM, is this the one you got?

    There's this one as well
    https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Toyota-Timing-Aisin-Engines/dp/B00I0Z14AW

It says ones Aisin and one's koyo. About a $20 difference.

Also it comes with a thermostat which I don't really want since I want to put a TRD tstat in instead but looks like I can't find a kit that excludes it.

The kit I linked is all oem. They use different manufactures. Check the description and it gives you the manufacturer and part numbers for each.

Ah ok thanks. Just being sure cause there were similar kits that say "generic parts" of course for a lower price.

So I was installing my new suspension and discovered that the spindle up top is loose. Or ball joint is loose. But the actual ball joint isn't really loose. Pretty sure it's the spindle. Because we checked the torque on uniball and was still tight at 170ft lbs. Couldn't remember what it was supposed to be. Driver side doesn't do this. The uniball seems tight in the control arm as well. Just this.
    (yes I know, she's filthy)

Yup, that don't look good. Looks like the spidle opening is too large. My Camburg mount had to be pressed in. Yours looks like it would fall apart.

@45acp and I had a date today. Usually that involves looking at my truck, coming up with something to do, breaking something, then resolving it.

So we swapped out the CV on my passenger side with an OEM one that's been sitting in my shed since Jon dropped it off years ago. The upper boat ripped off the collar from dry rot.

Then we ran into a problem.... how the fawk did you remove/replace the CV with the sway bar knuckle/link in place? We decided the only way was to remove it.

    Then we broke something.

The bolt inside the bushing was so rotted from rust that it just snapped in half.

So no sway bar for now. After test driving it, I decided I want to put it back on.

Also... we found a lot of oil on the splines that go through the hub. Anyone have ideas? Jon thinks it's just the residue from grease breaking down.

And for prosperity's sake... the blown CV boot

better to remove strut imo. takes about same amount of time and gives you alot more room to work with.

Yeah I'm kinda worried about it. I've had the camburgs for a few years now. Was just installing new struts/coils. It may be from when I got in a wreck and that side was hit. And got worse over time. Hmm. I wonder if I should make a ticket with insurance. Because all of that is guaranteed against future problems. Because like I said the other side looks fine...
    ...CRAP
Not sure if I wanna drive it now.

Welp insurance won't do anything. Talked to my friend whom was the adjuster. Was too long ago and says it would've shown signs shortly after. But for all I know, it's been like this since. I havent really had any reason to think it was bad. And with pressure on it, it doesn't really move. Could the c clips be bad? Or more likely the hole is bad? Either way, gonna see if I can find time to take it apart and look. In the meantime what are my options? Whole new hub?

Should be a tight press fit. id say your probably gona want to find a used spindle and a new slug adaper for the uniball. one of those are worn but its more than likely both of them are.
