Thanks for all the ideas! I originally was going to do a Nitro 3" ProComp level kit but because my truck has 120K miles someone suggested just changing all the shocks with Billys and set the front to the max ht to get the lift. But what I'm hearing from you folks is that the ride isn't going to be that good. I don't want to spend too much money...

    Gotta pay to play man.

You could just get 887 coils with the 5100s and leave them at the bottom clip.

    Won't break the bank

    What's your budget?

If money is tight I'd skip the new wheels and get a lift and tires. That said, if money is tight tight then don't lift.

You might have vibes or shakes that need parts (money) to fix. Also don't forget to include $100 so for an alignment.

I personally have not ridden in a tacoma on rear lift blocks, I personally have a single AAL and its pretty stiff. But that is just my opinion.... people are subject to their own opinions on the ride quality. You may get a whole new leaf pack and not like it.... trial and error with a bit of guidance.

Why would you opt for 887s with bottom clip vs 885s at 2nd clip? Are you planning on adding extra weight up front anytime soon?

So, Deaver Springs makes all the 3 leaf AAL mini packs. Icon is identical to Wheeler's (and is identical to ToyTec, HeadStrong, etc,.). Buy whichever is cheapest, likely Wheeler's or HeadStrong.. Icon is/was the most expensive when I bought my first lift.

Also if they're installed without retaining the factory overload, it's a 10% loss of payload.
