So I just picked up a 2013 base model access cab 4 banger A/T. In about a month I am going to be driving it from NY to CA and will have a harley (550-600 lbs) in the back along with a bunch of spare parts and luggage. Including myself and passenger I should be right around 1200lbs which I know is pretty much the max for the truck.

Looking for suggestions on which AAL to go with, I want to do something so the truck isnt sagging but I do not want to lift the rear end too much, at least for now.

Got a lot of stuff lol
When I first got my truck I towed my friends bike after he went down. The truck used to bounce if you jump up and down in the back. Now with an aal (fatbobs which is a deaver) and new shocks the truck barely moves and only moves once as the shocks eat everything else. If your going to add an aal I suggest looking at your shocks too. Most of the time when you add an aal your now at stock 6 lug shock length.
Usually in the local sales threads on here you can find cheap trd bilstein shocks off a 6 lug. Don't pay too much for them though I have gotten one set for $30 and another for a case of beer.
Also check out possibly a rear sway bar a few member rock them as well.

Thanks for the info! Yeah, one consideration was getting the fat bobs kit and just only installing the AAL (and maybe shocks) but I think I will be sitting real high in the back then, at least unloaded.

Ideally I'd like to find a way to get the back stiffer without lifting it much.

Is there a 5-lug specific air-bag option for our Tacomas? I haven't really checked out that option, personally - but getting to that weight class is exceeding OEM load rating for our truck. I know that my stock Tacoma was overloaded with the bulk of a 450lb ATV in the back and another 200+ lbs of gear stashed elsewhere, pre-level and lift. I haven't tried this loading, since doing all my work, so I really can't offer practical advice on it's effectiveness.

Yeah says it 1050lbs including passengers on the door, I might be close to that actually, have been selling off more and more bike parts.

Did not know about Sumo Springs but it sounds like that might be the best way to go for me. Anyone have any input blue vs black? The black sounds like it's going to be stiffer.

The fat bobs add a leaf doesnt lift it too much but really stiffens up the rear. I believe the shorter one is stiffer than the long one
