Nice can't wait to get my front and rear. Hey what did it run you to get it powder coated ? I'm still unsure of how I want to do mine if the powder coat is reasonable I'll go that route or I was thinking of doing it in like that line-x or like a coarse bed coating similar to line-x

$475.00. honesty doing it over again I would just do it myself. Finding the time though was rough plus the seasons here aren't that great to work outside. I would powder coat this way you can rattle can it at the end of your trip or whenever

Ya that's actually more than I was hoping to spend on getting both done so looks like I'll be doing it myself some how either like a line-x bed coating of just do some research on a good paint to use I have a cheap gravity fed paint gun and I can make a garage paint booth with that plastic wrap .

I have done my front bumper and roof rack with CVT Epoxy Paint from Orielys. I just take my time spaying on each coat and it looks really good. It's not to glossy and it's not to flat/matte either. I'm about to cover over the powdercoat on my sliders with the same paint.

That would be ideal. I think I read in this thread actually that someone just primed and painted with rustoleum.

    Edit: and it looked awesome

Here is the finished product I just painted last week. I used 4 cans of paint at $7 each.

He has had the full tube design for years. But he said he has only made about 5 of them. He also said he probably won't make any more because they take to much time to Fab up.

Thanks bud for the info I'll have to look into that brand, how many coats in all did it take including primer and where ddid u do it at in like a garage just outside ? I think I'm gonna get a giant roll of that big plastic wrap almost like the plastic drop clothes a painter would use and make an in closed area in my garage almost like a booth

Six coats total. I did two coats a day for three days. I waited at least 2 hours between coats. And then waited over 24 hours after the final coat to install. No primer needed with the epoxy paint. I just sprayed the bumper in my garage. I set a bow fan right at the garage door and have it blowing out to remove fumes.

That's how the first gens hybrid is but minus the taking too long to fab. He said it's one of the easiest ones. He had the parts cut Friday and I woke up to a pic Sunday morning my time (EST)of it finished.

I recommend his bumpers to everybody and if you really want it to just patiently wait. Email him, call him, text him, voice mail him, facebook him etc. It's what I had to do

Nope. It takes the floppy out of the bedside. The brackets are two piece and attach to each other. Set screw grabs the bedside.

A little of this and a little of that
I had both front and rear coated in Line-X and though it looks cool, I could have almost bought a third bumper with the cost of the coating. Also when you go with coatings such as Line-X, you will need to be wary the mounting points to the frame since coatings add a bit of thickness and you find that things don't fit as well anymore. I needed to break out the angle grinder and kill some flapper wheels while thinking to myself... I just spent all this money to coat these MFers, now I need to grind some of this crap off?!! WTF! Save yourself money and the headache and just go with the recommendation of the others and rattle can it.

Looks like potentially for rear camera relocate? I will post pics of mine, but I did dual swing out and had to relocate my back up camera.

EDIT: The earlier post makes more sense that these are fender support brackets.

x2. I personally powdercoat in my garage, but refuse to powder or line-x high wear item that may see metal to metal or rock scraps. There isn't any easy way to cover up scrapes on powder, line-x may be different. However, I just rattle and reapply as needed per dents/dings. Clean with acetone, use self-etching primer, then spray away with whatever you want. You would be surprised how well this process holds up. And then you don't freak out when the inevitable does occur, just touch it up and go.
