There is an old thread on this topic but it seems to be very broad and I'm trying to understand specifically what, if any, solutions have been presented to a prevalent issue with this specific model (which didn't appear as much in the 2016s) whereby the gas pedal vibrates to the point of foot numbness at highway speeds when in the 2,000-2,500 RPM range. My Taco is brand new (1500 miles) and when I took it back to the dealer, they acknowledged the issue but then in driving another of the same model it had the same issue and was marked as "normal." I have friends with 2016s who do not report this problem. Any solutions?

Is yours an AT or MT? My MT 2016 OR didn't have the pedal vibration issue.

If the 2nd truck you drove had this issue, try a third truck at a different dealer to verify?

Originally not Expo AF! Kinda Expo AF now...lame.
I can feel a vibration in my gas pedal that I don't feel in my 4Runner. It's not that big of a deal, however, so I ignore it. It's been there since day 1.

Feb 2016 6 cylinder automatic 4x4 Offroad no weird vibrations from the Tacoma in the gas peddle for me. I do note passing cars with loud exhaust rumble I can feel the rumble vibrations in the gas peddle as they go buy.

This was a very prevalent issue on the 2016s as well, gas pedal and steering wheel vibration in that RPM range. it's the Buzzy Vibration, read before buying thread.

The consensus is it is either inadequate motor mounts and/or exhaust resonance and inadequate damping.

You won't fix it and it won't be fixed by Toyota any time soon so you are stuck with it. Only option is to get used to it or trade in, sorry.

Yeah, it's one of those things I hate to "get used to" but I may just have to. I live in a metro area and my Mon-Fri driving consists of generally <60 mph in traffic. In these driving conditions I only feel it slightly when in that range on acceleration. It's when I'm on the interstate for extended periods driving at speed limit that the "sweet spot" of 2,200 is where the AT sits and at that time it gets so bad at cruising speed that it literally put my foot to sleep last weekend. I had to put it in cruise or drive faster to keep it out of that range. Such an amazing truck otherwise... and such an annoyance. Feels like a cheap 300k mile 4-cylinder beater in that RPM range though :(

Interesting. My 200k 4 cyl 01 beater, doesn't have the vibration either.

It's the AT, next up will be to test drive another truck at another dealer. I expect to feel some rumble - it is a truck and not a luxury passenger car, but I don't expect a new $36k truck to put my foot to sleep either!

Yeah - I bet you're right ;) Only frame of reference I had was an old Rav4 I had that started to do some similar vibration (though not as bad) after about 250k miles.

Well to be pedantic, you DID say 300k miles. Mine only has 200.

So maybe in another 100K miles, I will develop the vibration :)

See the million mile Gen 1 Tacoma in the gen 1 section? Original owner.

I tend to feel mine more in the steering wheel than the gas pedal, but I do feel it there from time to time. I'm trying to just get used to it. I've driven no less than 6 other New Tacomas and its present in all of them to some degree. I think the people who say their truck doesn't have it either aren't sensitive to it (it's a truck), or theirs doesn't vibrate quite as much as some of the worst. I have a friend who has a Tacoma Limited and his wasn't bad at all and had not even noticed it, but it was still there. Mine is a OR and I notice it quite a bit. I stopped and drove a 2017 quicksand OR not long ago and it was every bit as bad as mine if not worse. I don't have much hope that Toyota will fix this issue either.
