Thought about looking into one. A buddy has one and I gave it a spin....it's definitely cool and a ton of fun. I think I want to look into a mid fat bike as my next bike. Specialized stumpjumper fsr 6fattie is one I got my eye on.

Ok....so I'm stoked !!! I just got my bike back. I went to a 1x9 setup with a raceface narrow wide ring , new chain and the widest tires I could fit given the space I had that my frame would allow. I took it for a quick spin in the parking lot.....shifts like butter. It's 18 degrees here and supposed to get up to 5-6 inches of snow this weekend so no riding anytime soon.

You're going to like the 1x set-up. I have my mountain bikes converted and just did my fat bike to 1x10 with an oval chainring. Looking forward to riding the fatty tomorrow in the fresh pow. Looks like we're getting the same snow you are up here in SE Wisconsin. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Yeah it's coming down now!!! The bike is gonna be cool.. I'm excited. I took it for a short trip in the parking lot just to try it out real quick and loved it. It shifts so quick. I'm glad I did it, I really never left my middle chain ring anyway so when I thought of it , it was a no brainer. I can't wait to really test it out on the trails!!!

Dig the ride there........except for one small thing. That would be the rr shock position where the back tire throws crap all over it. Can't see seals lasting too long if ridden in dirt or sand, much less mud. At least give it a chance at a normal life with a lizardskin shock boot, lol. Still, badass bike. Worth rebuilding or replacing the shock.

Well, you'd be pleasantly surprised it has never given me any problems what so ever. I'll check the pressure every so often and keep it clean of any obvious build up of dirt and such and that's it. Providing I don't purposely go through some deep mud, it really doesn't collect as much crap as you'd think it would......thanks for the props

Yeah don't get me wrong it does get dirty, just not as bad as you'd think. I believe specialiaized put a few of their shocks on a few frames on more or less the same spot and angle.
