As the title states, bought the wife a new Trail.

What do I/we need to know and what do we need to get now?

    Weathertecs are on order.

It's a 16' Trail in Classic Silver w/ KDSS and Entune w/ app suite. She loves it and I'm a little jelly. :anonymous:

Do you have any specific intentions, aside from driving it, for this Trail Edition 4 Runner?

That would help folks point you toward what you "need"...

    Congrats and Happy Thanksgiving. :)

It might pull a Livin'-Lite travel trailer on occasion. It might see some trails. But mostly it's my wife's and she wanted the Trail because it had all the switches in the overhead. I didn't argue for obvious reasons. Way better than a Limited IMO. SR5 would've been more than sufficient for her but, again, I didn't argue when she opted for the Trail. For obvious reasons. :D

Looking for black OEM TRD wheels and likely a set of Duratracs. She likes how they look on my Tacoma. Just wondering if there's anything I need to address now that's particular w/ the 4Runner?

I really like it. Power is great at 5280 and I'm running a SC on my Tacoma. It's not as powerful as my Tacoma, specifically torque, but is quite reasonable at altitude. Rides great, for a real BOF SUV. I think the KDSS should help on road handling as much as off road. At least in theory.

You could certainly check in over at 4Runners.com forums maybe? I'm not familiar with 4 Runner specific issues that "need" to be remedied.

You live in Denver next to the mountains and it "might" see some trails?

Did it have OE 4runner floor mats in it? I'm thinking about getting rid of my front weathertechs. They drive me nutzz

Congrats on the sale though. I have a 14 Trail premium and I love it.

Add the wheels and tires that you want and have fun with it. If you'll rarely be offroad, there's not much you'll need/want to do on it.

Yes, but her WeatherTechs just arrived Tuesday. Just in time for the snow. Ordered the OEM Trail running boards. Not gonna weld on set of rock rails and they seem to be about the best ‘standard’ running boards.

good choice! Wife wanted a trail premium, so we traded in her '14 4x4 limited. It doesn't need much. You can check my build for what we did to hers.
    I'm a little jelly too...

The only thing left that she wants are LED headlights and fogs, but I haven't really found anything I trust. If anyone has some links to good ones, send them my way :)

Hey just curious about that ladder going to roof, does it fold up when you open the gate? Any more pics/ info on it?

It's a gobi roof rack and ladder. It clamps on to the liftgate. The ladder doesn't attach to the rack, so it can be used with any other roof rack.
