I am looking for some advice on how to price this truck for sale locally. It's a 2001 with 328k miles and solid as a rock. As you can see it's a 4x4 TRD SR5 with all the options. Interior is in near perfect condition, no rust, only the paint is showing its age. Clear coat is fading on the roof and hood and the rest has surface scratches and such, but no damage. Mechanically it's in awesome shape. No rattles, Squeeks, nothing. Drives like brand new. Totally original except for a trailer brake. I'm having trouble figuring out what it's worth. I'd like to ask 7.5-8k for it. Do you think that's reasonable? Just looking for some honest feedback from the experts.

Tough to give you a definitive number without more pictures and details...

Going off of what I see, IF it truly drives " like brand new" and needs nothing mechanically, I'd say start it at $7K OBO if it's 4WD... $1000 less if it's a pre-runner.

    I would agree with that.

Obviously, it owes you nothing. If someone offers you 6k after sitting on it for 2 weeks, sell it.

I think it will be a hard sale with 328K miles, it would have to be a good deal for me to consider it. 4-5K at the most in my opinion without even looking at the book value.

I agree with KDay. I've been on the market for a similar truck (but manual) for a while and have seen dozens of 2001-04 Tacomas. I wouldn't bother inquiring if it was listed at $7-8k, even if it was manual. Having said that, if I was the seller, I'd probably start at around $8k :) I just wouldn't expect to get more than $5-6k. And who knows...you may end up with a buyer who is looking for exactly your truck and doesn't care if it has over 300k miles on it and is willing to pay the $8k.

6k seems like a fair price if the body is good.

Where's local? I'm looking for a truck exactly like this and with that said the most I'd pay would be $5,500 and that's if the interior is solid.

I would say depends on your location and of course frame pics! I wouldn't think you could get more than $6k either way, but a rusty frame (and I don't mean holes/material missing either) would drop my vote to $4k.

$4k is low but not outrageous. Doesn't seem like the seller is even around any more though.
