Hello, I cannot seem to find the answer to this by searching. I may be doing the ECGS bushing, my CV axle is less than a year old (whole different issue on that).

Is the C-clip on the CV axle re-usable or will it get damaged when removing the CV?

    Thanks!

Has the design changed on the ECGS bushing? watched the install video on thier website, look like they get the bushing in quite a bit further than I am. I'm trying hard just to get it to sit flush. I figure it has to be in the square or it wouldn't have gone as far as it is now. Any help?

Indeed, and it's working great. We have a small bridge near here that I like to hit pretty fast. It just about puts me airborne at about 55 mph. I've hit it about four times in the last couple of hours and no funny noises, clunks or anything. I'm very pleased with the results. AND the dreaded drone/hum is GONE.

Glad I'm not the only one... I was a little worried, but it seems to clear ok.

For whatever reason, this was more of a bear than I thought it would be. CV did NOT want to come out, or go back in. Bushing did not want to go easily into the diff, and believe me I checked and checked to make sure it was square. Getting the needle bearing out was cake though.

I also ran into some other issues, I had to have CV replaced this summer and the guy that did it stripped out the upper bolt on the sway link. Could not get enough traction with the hex or anything, ended up having to cut/drill the thing out. Good thing I had the part as I was going to replace it due to the boots wore torn. Also found that my tie rod end will have to be replaced, boot is also torn.

There is always something I run into while working on mytruck that makes the job harder than it should be. If youre ever reinstalling the CV make sure the c-clip is on top of the shaft before inserting it.

I just did mine 3rd gen, and it went in flush. Went in very easily with a Race install tool and a dead blow.

You'll be so happy to not hear the howl, grind, vibration.

Yep, fit the bearing like it was made for it.

Looks like the kit is a little different now.
