On Friday i installed Skyjackers new leaf pack setup on the rear of my 2006 Tacoma 4X4. I had recently broken an Add-A-Leaf and I can't remember where i got it so I won't put a name here. I really didn't want to go with another Add-A-Leaf so i decided to give the Skyjacker leafs a try. It was an easy install, luckily Toyota had just replaced my leafs as part of a recall so all the nuts and bolts were brand new : ). I got about 2 1/4" lift in with the leafs and it pretty much leveled the truck to where it was with the Add-A-Leaf. Previously I had the Add-A-Leaf and a 1" block. As for the ride it seems to be about the same as the Add-A-Leaf, which was always pretty jarring with no load in the bed. This seems maybe a tad softer, guess thats why they call it Softride... Anyway here's some pics.

Stock leafs have CO on them, with the shackle still attached too...

New leaf pack on the right hand side, stock on the left. The axle is on jack stands so you can see the difference is arc from stock to new. And yes, I need to replace those old shocks

Before rear lift install. It was weird driving around like that, with stock tires and the nose in the air.

    And after with wheels reinstalled.

So stock u bolts are used for the skyjacker pack? Mine are so rusty I likely can't reuse them. I'm wondering what mounting hardware I need for this leaf pack?

    Nothing except u bolts.

But if its seriously rusty the forward pass through bolts can seize.

You likely have the recall springs done in the last 5 years so they shouldn't be too bad.

Ubolts are a one time use bc they stretch. They should be replaced, especially if they are older.

Good to know. Whats the best way to source new U-bolts? Just look up OEM Tacoma leaf spring U-bolts?

Amazon. 8.5" should work fine. And then trim them down when you are all done.
