Yes, I traded my 05 single cab Prerunner for this truck, and of course, people demanded a new build thread. No, not a Tacoma. But it'll fit in just fine around here I think. Truck was a single owner vehicle, owned by an old lady and was 100% bone stock when the last owner got it. He is a fabricator at Richer Racing here in Oceanside, CA. The truck was built over the last 6 years or so.

I've also acquired a 2004 Tacoma 5VZ-FE 3.4L motor, and almost all the parts needed to perform the swap. Surprisingly, this is one of the easiest swaps I've ever seen. Motor mounts, transmission, and many other parts bolt directly to the 3.4L, I need to fabricate the exhaust crossover pipe and a pass. side tab for the solid motor mount.

After the new motor is dropped in, I plan to buy a Magnuson Supercharger and 7th injector kit for the 3.4L to push it over the edge. This will give me great power on the road, and in the dunes.

Well that's all for now! I'll try to update as the motor swap process comes along. I plan to begin the swap shortly after New Years.

That is a beautiful truck. It looks like something you'd see in the LCE Performance catalog. It also makes me think it's time for polished aluminum wheels to make a comeback.

I love the wheels, a great classic look by far. My goal is to keep the truck looking period-correct, yet have all the performance aspects of a modern desert truck. Thanks for the kind words!

Definitely less haha, I actually got it on a trade deal for a 2005 single cab prerunner that had an LT kit on it. My old truck was worth about $12,000.

Thank you gents. Yeah, the truck was built very well that's for sure. She just needs some new life breathed into her.

Sorry for the late reply, I'm not on here much anymore. The wheel came with the truck, so I really don't know what hub it is, but it's a red anodized hub with splines?
None yet, truck is going on hiatus until the fall...going through it all and changing lots of stuff.

He hasn't been on here for about 6 months since he sold his last taco. I'd probably say his advice would be buy used since his last two long travel trucks have been used ones! He's desertchief on instagram - you'll see the red yota in his avatar - that's his current truck!

I was referring to his red pickup, just in case i wasn't clear. Problem with that is that I already have the pickup as well. But thanks! I will try and reach him on there.
