My 2016 Tacoma with a factory Tonneau has begun leaking slightly with the rain.

Last night I emptied my truck bed and put a fan on it to make sure it was bone dry this a.m.

I drove around today and I noticed that water is slightly leaking in from each side.

I looked at the set up and do not see anything that has changed. Cover seems to be fitting well and appears to be aligned. Gaskets appear okay.

I'm not sure if this is a "new" problem or one I'm just noticing?

I carry a lot of gear back there for work and dryness is a must.

    Anybody else having this problem?

Any suggestions or comments would be welcomed.

    Thanks.

I personally went with a Leer 700 Series fiberglass cover....

I realized mine is not leaking from the tonneau cover, but from the top corners on both sides of the bed closest to the cab.

There is a large opening there. I might try to fill it in with "Great Stuff" for ponds (black). It's waterproof and expands to fill the gap. But it is messy stuff and hard to cleanup.

Forget the great stuff and get a roll of butyl tape and make a round golf ball sized piece and pack it in the corners works awesome....

I tried that once already, but the stuff didn't hold up after a few rains. Lost it's stickiness and peeled right off. I am also thinking about cutting some pieces of ABS plastic I have left over from some jobs I did on kayaks. I could cut it to fit over the gap and seal it that way.

How about this... I have NOT tried this, but I would if I had an issue like this...
To fill that gap at each front corner, I'd place a piece of Duct Tape front and rear of the gap... then use some black silicone and fill that area completely.... let it dry... remove tape... Should work and remain flexible..?

Thanks for all the suggestions and comments.

I'm going to crawl into the bed of my truck in broad daylight and see if I can spot and light coming in.

I'm also going to look around for some other threads on this.

That is a good idea, I might try that first. silicone is easier to get out than great stuff.

Get a bright flashlight and hold it under the rail to see where the light comes through and go from there....

I used clear silicone on my ARE cap along inside edges that leaked it works for awhile but eventually the body twisting loosens up the silicone, but it works for awhile. it might be a good idea to remove the cap and replace the stripping and silicone it too at the same time.
