I've been digging thru old post and haven't found an answer.
My intake tube has a few cracks starting in it. I'm looking at options.
There's the factory one or Airaid ( a little pricy )

Another idea: Has any one used the elbow right off throttle body for the older 4Runner 3.4v6?
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Air-Cleaner...b4ee3a4&pid=100005&rk=4&rkt=6&sd=121769561435 $17.00

Combined with a 3inch pipe and a hump coupler at factory airbox.

    $10.00

With a short piece of SS tube.

    $12.00

Clamps would be about $6-10 depends on material.
Around $50.00 total, custom and free flowing.

I bought the cheapest aftermarket hot air intake off of ebay for $75ishUSD and connected it to the factory airbox. just had to cut about 3" off of it.

Stainless steel is going to run hot. You'd be better off buying a carbon fiber tube or something else composite. Intercooler pipes have the advantage of an intercooler keeping the air temps down. On top of the engine it's going to heat that pipe with little to no cooling.

I am still selling it. OEM, from the dealership and still wrapped in plastic.

However, my part number is different from the one you're looking at on ebay. It's the 17882-62020. The only difference from what I can tell is the output size of the hole for the vacuum hose that comes in on the side. Requires a larger nipple insert.
