Nicely done! That is exactly the setup I want in mine.

Looks like a perfect project during the holidays.

    I'll get to it soon!

Well installed LED lights! Bigger project than what I thought!

I was just going to wire up my lights to the stock single bulb thing. However, my LEDs are for 12 v and 4 AA only makes 6 v.
    upload_2016-11-12_16-30-5.jpg

So bought 2 4-celled AA battery holders and wired them up to the LED control box. I needed a way to hid all the wiring from all the cords to my LED bars so I bought a 1 inch conduit box to store it all. Cut the ends off where the tubing is and spray painted it black. Also bought a metal bar thing that fit perfectly the length between the screw holes in the camper. I attached the box to the metal

    Installed!
    upload_2016-11-12_16-33-39.jpg

May have to put the box on an angle bracket so you don't tap your head on it coming into the bed. Only sticks out a little more than the old one but just enough you might bonk your head. Or just spray paint one side bright orange

Thanks! I love it, it's a great setup. I was going to build a platform but I happened to look on craigslist and one was there! Who would've thought?

Thanks! I want to do more but I'm not sure what else I can do that would be practical!

I was wondering if you by chance ever got some measurement for your sleeping platform? I'm in the early stages of designing one and like the overall size and look of the one you have.

Went to home depot and found some thick weather stripping! Don't know the exact size but I think it was medium width and thick. I can see if I can find the package

I'll get measurements of my platform tomorrow as well for you guys wanting them!

If that method doesn't work out there are tailgate seals that may work a little better; I tried the flat foam like you have and ended up switching to the seal. I honestly haven't found anything that works great though.

I'd also say you need to have someone slide around under your truck with a bright light while you are in the empty bed and look for light leaks then seal them. The cubbies all need some help as do the seams in the composite bed where they overlap. Make sure that your shell doesn't have gaps at the corners where the rear glass is. On my last Tacoma I ended up gluing some ruber flaps in the opening for the rear door to seal against and that helped. Not really a problem on the east coast but when I was out west that fine dust would get in. I put my clothes and bedding in bags when out west.

good tips! Cept I don't have composite beds so don't have to worry bout that! I do have two drain holes at the front of the bed where I should fill.

I'll look into those tail gate seals and flaps as well as I can still see gaps with the weather stripping.

Fuck me guys I'm sorry. Forgot to get measurements before my trip. I get back on Sunday and will get to it shortly after that

Doh, I should have paid more attention. :homer: Yeah on my 1st gen I just taped over the two drain holes near the front using some 100mph tape. My bed was Rhino-lined.

Yeah I want to get to the point of bed lining my truck as I bet the bare metal is just going to radiate coldness.

:puke:hahah yeah right! I would've had to burn it all if I did that
