Front diff is the 7.5" clamshell. you can find em used super cheap just about anywhere that deals with Toyota stuff.

Well for one it's a 8" I believe ran vin code in door jam ...and second I have had a vib for probably 20 k ...replaced seals and cvs couple times and leaks within few miles ..no i didn't damage seals on install... I believe out put shaft bearings are shot ...the carrier side .. hums pretty loud ...ofc better with economy tires ...but vib is bad with muds . ..more strain on drive train ...all new driveshafts also ...but to rebuild is more expense then buying used set up ...run bout 500$ on eBay for decent set up ...but you never know there history ...that's y I want one from a person that used it not scrape yard

    Probably your problem here.

Tires used wouldnt affect this when in 2wd though.

That 8" is referring to the rear diff. front is this one.

It's winter in north country now so it'll have to wait till summer ...anyone know the chances of replacing the driver a side bearing fixing the issue ? I won't have to pull diff to do it ...

Also it's Been doing this awhile if I put in ecgs's bushing replacement what's the chances it tightens it up ?...or have I waited to long and the slop has worn down the spider gears ?...the bushing is a cheap fix... I know it's a good fix for the next gens, but not knowledgeable about these gens.. if it fixes the issue well

If you grab in the inner part of cv can you push it up and down in the diff?

Its unlikely the spider gears are worn. they have their own bearing surface in the carrier and the slop from needle bearing doesnt put much force on them. youd see alot of shavings in the diff fluid.

My bearing and seal got so bad i was topping mine up almost every week. i left a puddle everwhere i parked. vibs at 40kmh were pretty damn bad.

Ecgs bushing and new seal completely fixed problem.

I don't really thinking buying one from the internet is any more of a guarantee of getting one with "a good history" than getting one from a parts recycler.

But doubtful you need to throw money at a whole new (used) diff. Just take it to a diff shop, have it gone over by a professional, maybe add a locker while you're in there. :)
