Any recommendations for removing water stains on shell windows?

What I use on my cab is not working for the shell for some reason, different kinds of glass

    Cheers

Does anyone know if you could slide a 23" wide longboard in the operable back window of a 2nd gen tacoma? looking at buying one and putting a camper on it to keep my board safe while at work

Got my ARE MX and love the look of it but it leaks like CRAZY! The dealer said 2016 Tacomas will never be leak free. It's leakingimage.jpg in the door/ gate and up in both corners by the cab. I use it for camping and first time all gear under my platform was soaked. Is there any truth to this. Anyone had luck with leak free 3rd gen??

I don't have a 3rd gen but caulking around the bedrails where everything meets will help any leaks around the cab area. and some thick weatherstripping around the tailgate would help stem the leaks around there. ive got a couple of leaks around mine too. your cap looks great though! just seal it up one leak at a time and eventually youll have a relatively leak free cap!

I had to get my front window replaced in my Snugtop because it was leaking. Also check the track bolts. Snugtop did a terrible job of sealing the tracks to the roof. It sucks to do, but I completely removed both tracks and found that there was hardly any silicone around the bolts, where the leaks were coming from. Get a good sealant, I used this stuff as i recall (plus the white will match your truck better than mine!):

Mine leaked at first on my 2nd gen took it off and re-applied the weather stripping. Its super dry dosesn't leak at all. This was a three person job one on each side and one to lift. Making sure all points of contacts are reached at the same time l believe this is beneficial so you don't have to move the shell once it is in place. Boonie your truck looks nice man:thumbsup:

I sealed my 3rg gen when the cap was off.
Took the third rail off against the back window sealed under it and then both corners real well, the only thing i didnt do was lift the 2 side bed guard plastic things that run the length of the box ontop of the side bed walls and seal under there, water tends to run under the length of it. ive camped a few times so far so dry20160307_112733.jpg 20160307_110943.jpg 20160308_181218.jpg
Also plug those wholes in the bottom of the bed floor by the cab window. lots of water comes in there when driving

I had bad etching on my windows from factory smoke stacks. i bought carpro ceri glass polisher fallowed by duragloss nu-glass light polisher for my machine polisher.
You can probably get away with just the nu-glass if barkeepers friend doesnt work.
    Good luck

Finally got my shell. Took me a good while to find it on CL. Paid more than I wanted ($900) but it was exactly what I was looking for. Roof rack already installed, it's fully carpet lined on the inside, and pop out side windows. Only problem is there is a slight gap where the shell meets the bed in one area. I might double up the weatherstripping to help seal it.

Loving the topper! No big rain yet to put it to the test but the dealer I purchased mine from sealed the common locations that leak. Right behind the cab there are 2 spots that need to be sealed up.

Your first two pictures look exactly like what my installer did. What is that in the third picture and where did you find it?

I asked the installer to add a piece of weather strip between the cab and cap. looks like a little flap attached with 3m. it might help a bit of water not getting in
